It might be Tiger Woods now. But for this timeframe, I'm guessing Michael Jordan. His face was on the cover of every magazine back then (SI, Time, Fortune). Not that that has anything to do with endorsements, but there was a reason they were writing about him....

I don't know what the *real* answer is, but I did read on another board that the answer to be correct through Memolink is Tiger Woods...

Ah, time will tell. The info I saw had MJ earning $40mil+ in 1997 and another $40mil+1999. Tiger only had like $20mil+ in 1999. I think that's what I saw, but I didn't look too hard, though. I know it has to be between those two.
