Membership Magic - One Room on Points and One Room with Cash

Getting ready to book Membership Magic in a few days and we have two reservations. One is booked on points and the other is booked with cash. Right now, I am on both reservations but I am wondering if I should just have DH on one and me on the other. We have two contract numbers (purchased before resale restrictions), so I didn't know if I should try one contract with DH and the other with me. I have read that there is one primary number for multiple contracts, so not sure that this matters.

I know that others have been able to book two rooms for membership magic that were reserved on points (https://www.disboards.com/threads/m...tration-question.3685081/page-3#post-59318903), just didn't know if anyone had any insight on booking points/cash combo. Thanks!

Are you talking about Moonlight Magic at Hollywood Studios?

Are both of your contracts the same use year under the same membership number? It is booked under membership number, not contract number. I have two member numbers with two contracts under one of the numbers because my third contract is a different use year. I hope that that makes sense.

We have two membership ID numbers in dvcmember.com. I didn't know if both rooms could be booked under one membership number or if I should book them separately. Does it matter if I am on both reservations or should DH be on one and I can be on the other?

From the event details page:

Party Size Limits
A Member can register themselves and up to 5 additional guests (total of 6)—or up to the number of guests on his or her Resort reservation. Children younger than 3 years old do not need to be registered for this event.

Members With Multiple Resort Reservations
If Members have multiple Resort reservations, additional party size guidelines apply depending on how the reservation was booked:

• When staying using Vacation Points, Members can register themselves and up to the number of individuals on their Resort reservation(s).
• When staying using cash or RCI® points, Members can register themselves and up to the number of individuals staying in the same room as the Member.

When registering for this event, Members with multiple Resort reservations may need to attempt each reservation number until successful.

Through the DVC member website. Look for the Member Magic link on the homepage and then Moonlight Magic under special events. The link for HS should go live at 9:00 AM Eastern Time.

That's SO unfair when we've been trying to get through for 50 minutes.

Soarin' is 20 spots a week, so it is a rarity to get.

MM, even with overbooking, is popular, and people book max (6) even if traveling solo.

DVC do not actually care if people get in or if it is "fair." It is solely marketing.

Well, they should STOP people booking 6 tickets a go. maybe more families that would love to do it would get in. Pure greed on their part because I bet they'll end up on Ebay

Can't. The people do have to come with the member whose number it is booked under, with matching blue card and photo ID. So they won't be on eBay.

I think for the marketing angle, they WANT people to book extra and bring along (possibly interested) non-members. Potential new members.
