Membership ? If my mom adds me onto her account can I make reservations?

MY DH and I are DVC members, my mom also joined DVC a few years back. She gets completely flabbergasted when calling MS. It is a source of stress for her. She finds the whole thing confusing -- especially the banking/borrowing, one time use points, etc. So, usually I make reservations for her when she's visiting me but I live in Maine and she lives in NJ so she's not here all that often. I was wondering if she added my name to her membership (I think there's a section on the website that says add an associate) will this enable me to make reservations under her membership? It would just be a whole lot easier than waiting for her to visit me and then having her call and handing the phone over to me.

yes there is 'add an associate" and yes then you could make reservations.

As DVCconvert said, yes. As an 'Associate Member', you can make/modify reservations and bank/borrow points. You would not have access to financial information related to her membership (loans, dues, etc.).

OP would if she's logging onto the website as her mother....but OP - you might want to explore being added onto the deed as a joint owner/w rights of surviorship ....this may avoid having to probate your mom's estate in FL (if she doesn't live there) and make for a smooth transition 'down the road'...just some thoughts.

Which is what I do since my partner is the member and I'm an associate, but member accounting will not talk to me about financial information.

I can appreciate the confusion. Even after all these years having a December use year still makes me do a double take when reviewing my statement.
