Melted, Roasted, & Cooked (and that's not just the food!) Our 10 day foodie review.

You made me laugh hysterically! I too homeschool and we are also not hippies!:rotfl2:

People have actually asked me if we were crunchy-granola types! As if that was the only reason anyone ever homeschooled! Though I have been known to eat granola . . .

I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed Donald's Safari breakfast as we are eating there on our upcoming trip - looking forward to the juice and doghnuts (it's the reason we made the ADR! :lmao:)

Lol, love how the princess reacted to the possibility of having caramel on her apple!

Will keep in mind to try the WPE at Marketplace rather than Westside :thumbsup2

In the past we've eaten at WPE (Marketplace) several times. We really like it there. We really missed it this time. I think there might even be a more varied menu at Marketplace.
(Do you really live in Manchester? I'm a HUGE Corrie fan :woohoo:)
Have a great trip! Looking forward to hearing about it.

Cool - will look forward to the varied menu at Marketplace.

Lol, yes I really do live in Manchester and Corrie is great at the minute - is on every night because of the storyline. I'm not sure if you are in sync with the episodes that are shown here so will not give anything away! ;)

Thanks! We leave in 4 days and I am sooo excited - can't wait to share the details and food with all of you :)

Day Five (Disney's Hollywood Studios & Star Wars Weekend)

Sci-Fi Dine-In (Lunch)

MegaWoman: Shrimp Pasta w/Cherry Coke & Cheesecake. This was delicious! There was so much shrimp we couldn't believe it. Usually when you order past with seafood there are just a few (usually overcooked) shrimp sprinkled on as an afterthought. But this was so tasty. The shrimp was perfect, the tomatoes were lovely and there wasn't too much garlic. I also love Cherry (Diet) Cokes and they keep them coming. The first time I had the cheesecake here, back in 2007, it was made with Mascarpone cheese and "decorated" with caramel corn, and it was yummy! This time, I think they've switched to cream cheese based cheesecake, but it was still good. I could be wrong though, and I'm going to look into this more. (More research! Yum!)

Fred: Shrimp Pasta w/Pomegranate Lemonade & Ice-Cream Sundae. "Why are you copying me? Why are you ordering the same thing as I am? Do you think I'm cooooool? You want to be just like me don't you? Oooohhhh you like me . . . ." (At this point I started tuning him out and staring at the screen. I mean really? How old are we? Oh wait, that's right - We're at Disney World! Who cares if we're all wearing Star Wars t-shirts and the Princess and I both have Leia buns in our hair. We. Are. At. Disney. World.):rotfl2: Ice-Cream sundaes are Fred's favourite thing (I think that's why he bought me an ice-cream maker attachment for my Kitchen Aid mixer for my birthday last year!!)

The Padawan: Hot Dog, Carrots & Celery w/orange juice & ice-cream sundae. This is one of those kids' meals that just aren’t very big. He ate everything though, but complained about the lack of dill pickle relish. (I have never seen dill pickle relish at any restaurant anywhere. It's all my kids eat, and I'm considering travelling with a jar in my purse:rotfl:)

The Princess: Mac'n'cheese, apple slices w/Pomegranate Lemonade & Ice-Cream Sundae. She said this was great mac'n'cheese, though not as good as the mac'n'cheese from the Concourse Steakhouse! (It used to be at the Contemporary Resort, but was removed to make more room for Chef Mickey's & Contempo Cafe)

Will we eat here again? Yes. The very first time we went to WDW we stayed off-site, didn't really know anything, and didn't make any ADR. But we managed somehow to score a late lunch ressie and ate here. It's been a tradition for us ever since. I love the theme, I love the cheesy movies, and it's nice and dark and cool. We just chill and re-energize. Sometimes the staff here are even wearing roller-skates!

Hollywood Popcorn Cart (Snack)
(Located on the North West corner of Hollywood Blvd & Sunset Blvd)

** OMG I spent 31$ OOP for popcorn. Caramel corn to be exact. It wasn't very good, but it was in an R2-D2 container. :scared1:

Will we eat here again? Yes. I do love popcorn, though not enough to re-mortgage the house for it!!
We had really wanted to go to Starring Rolls, after seeing so many tasty pics here. But sadly we didn't know that it closed early! I didn't even get to go in to have a look  Maybe next time?

Intermission Food Court (Dinner & Snack)

The boys passed out then we arrived back at our room, it was about 6:30pm and they slept the whole night! We were so hot, and so uncomfortable that we came back to the resort early, had a quick swim and they fell asleep, and the Princess and I ate a late supper by the pool.

MegaWoman: Turkey/Munster on Focaccia Sandwich w/chips, Cheesecake Swirl & apple juice. (I used my refillable mug for sweet tea, gave the apple juice to the Princess) This was good. I asked them to warm it up a bit, as it comes right out of a fridge, pre-made, bread and all. I love eating outside by the pool. We sat by the Piano (Quiet) Pool for a little bit, then went off to collapse into bed. Snore.

The Princess: Cranberry Orange muffin. (She had my apple juice and my chips) My DD is a Cranberry Orange muffin aficionado! Her favourite ones are from McDonald's (something I noticed that you don't have the USA!) She loves to eat tart cranberries, and only likes a hint of orange. She gave this two thumbs up!

Will we eat here again? Unknown. We only eat here as this is the resort we're staying at. It's okay, but after eating & visiting other resorts' food courts, we've realized that we're missing out.

We're behind on Corrie right now, it's November 2010 right now! We watch it on the CBC here in Canada, and they recently changed it to 1 hour episodes 5 nights a week until we catch up to the UK! (So we're before the tram crash, but after the change to HD format, with the new intro. The Joinery has just opened, and the whole Carla/Leanne/Nick/Peter thing has just started)

Wow that is really behind - it is the same for us with US shows but think it is getting better! Enjoy the tram crash episodes - they were sooo good.

Btw just read your new reviews and love that you enjoyed the Shrimp Pasta at Sci-Fi-Dine-In. We are not eating here but have read mixed reviews of the place. I'm glad to hear you guys really enjoy it :thumbsup2

How did that work for your family? I'm thinking of upgrading my DD on our next trip. She's not a big eater, but prefers not to eat most "kid" food.

It's for coming trip in 15 days. Last year, we used 1 kids cs credit during our 1 week stay. :sad2: After the frist meal, DS was eating off our plates. Thankfully, between two adult portion and desserts, we were okay. This trip is just me and DS and although we are not big eaters, there's no way we could be happy sharing one adult portion. So I called and told them the truth... paid for the tix different (child to adult) and they upgraded DS to disney adult (10 y/o). I'm looking forward to freedom from crappy kids choices.

Great update! Our family also like WPE (the marketplace one). It's such a great value on DDP.
