Everything is sounding great! I love the fact that your dad and step-mom liked your site choices! I have to say my mom is the same way when it comes to the camera. She swears half the time it's just not working. And I just go along with it and say "Oh, Mom! I fixed it!" I love that snow globe that your dad got you. That is just tooo sweet!

Staying at POFQ will be freat! I have stayed at a bunch of the resorts and I know that you will have a great time! Me and DF had this discussion and we decided that as long as I am on Disney property I don't care where we stay... except for the campgrounds!

Have a great trip back to MA! I know it's a pain to deal with you car but Mass is sooo much fun! I'm going up in April, just in time for baseball season! Go SOX!

I know! I'm always impressed when my dad does things like that. He was never overly sentimental when I was a kid, but he's really become sweet in his old age!

I'm so excited that the STDs went out! I actually had to call Disney for more - we forgot quite a few people. Oops! Like one whole side of my family!

Pam and her assistant Tina are sweethearts - they're just wonderful to work with and I would recommend them to anyone. If they can put up with me and my million and one issues, they can deal with anyone!

Let me say I'm so psyched to be home again. Driving like a Massachusettsian again... ah bliss! More than one radio station.. ah bliss! I could go on and on! Rob and I have made the decision that once I graduate from UMaine next spring, we're out of Northern Maine! I'm so excited!! Civilization here I come!

I don't remember if I mentioned this, but Rob's brother and best man, got us tickets to see the Sox exactly one month before the wedding on Sept 12 vs. Tampa Bay! Def. GO SOX!!!

Welcome to my 1,000th post as a member of the DISBrides! WAZOO!!

Anyodd, I hate to complain but I need advice.

I was on the phone with my step mom and mentioned that I had to call my step brother to tell him where to go buy the FG dress for my niece. My step-mom said "oh they might not be coming to the wedding". My heart skips a beat as this was the first time I had heard about this. I ask her why. It seems that my step brother has gotten a promotion and may have to go to a conference that week. Ok disappointing, but my stepsister in law could bring both my nieces right? No, stepsister in law doesn't want to travel without stepbrother. (if you're wondering, if she was to bring the girls, there would be plenty of family to help watch them and help her out - step mom and step sister among them).

Supposedly they had known about this for about a month, but they haven't called or emailed me to talk about it. They're both friends on my facebook as well. I'm really upset about this. It would be nice to know before the day of the wedding that I won't have a FG.

What should I do? I found out on Friday that I could have an alternate. One of my close friends, whose two boys are my Jr.GM and RB has a 5 year old niece who would love to be a FG. My friend's sister would love to come to my wedding, but I don't know her. But the little girl is just adorable and would be an awesome FG, but I really want my niece to do it.

And I wouldn't just be losing out on Emily as my FG - I wanted my step brother to escort my step mom to her seat and my step-sister in law to do a reading. I'm all kerfuddled - advice please?

Oh Meg that's a real blow! Im so sorry you have to be faced with this... and to not be contacted by them is just bad manners however maybe they were waiting to see if your step brother did actually have to go to the conference... no point worrying you unnecessarily... but then again not fair for you to buy a FG dress for someone who may not wear it.

Could you brooch the subject with them? You sound like you are being mega cool and calm about this (which deserves big congrats *** i dont think i would react in the same way) and explain obviously your issues and that you need to know asap... sometimes people dont realise what is involved when planning a wedding and so it may just need to be pointed out to them that as much as you'd like to you cant hang around in limbo and will need a definite answer.

Sorry that probably isnt much help but i hope you can sort it

Aww Meg! Thats a bummer, but maybe they are just trying to see if they will def be missing it before they tell you and worry you?? They sound like decent folk, so I can't really see them just being shady/selfish about it from what you have said about it... But, since the cat is out of the bag so to speak, you might as well just call him up and ask him... maybe once he sees how important it is to you that they are there things will work out. But my advice is confront him and ask him whats up, it's only fair, especially if you need a replacement FG ya know? Let us know how it works out

I would say talk to him and see what's going on. I wouldn't replace the FG until you are absolutely sure. I hope everything works out for the best. I am going through the same thing right now and I am trying to remain calm because I was about to have a BRIDEZILLA moment. Just take it easy and remember it's your day.

Aww, Meg, that sucks they might not be able to make it! I would definatley get on the phone with him and figure out what's going on. He may not for sure though, so maybe that's why he hasn't talked to you about it. He may not want to tell you until he knows for sure, because if he ends up being able to make it, he might not want to upset you over nothing. But since you know, I would definately call him! I hope they can make it!!

Thanks muchly! I completely love Janet Evanovich - I just finished Plum Spooky and have the Foul Play audiobook (a non Stephanie Plum book by Janet) for my ride back to Massachusetts this weekend. After you read her Plum books try the Full series starting at Full Tilt. They're just as funny! I just saw that her new book for the Plum series comes out June 23 - Finger Lickin Fifteen! EEK! JOY!

I found Plum Spooky at the library and read the whole thing on the cruise two weeks ago! I'm currently reading Hot Six which I was also able to find at the library, it looks like a new copy. I skipped over the fifth one because I couldn't find it. I'm going ask my mom to scope out the used bookstores at home again and bring me some more of the lower numbered ones next week.
I have read Full Scoop as it was the only thing by her on the shelf at the library when I knew I was going to be done with Four to Score.
I'll probably finish Hot Six today because it is raining


So I totally missed your FG drama post last week! Stupid DisBoards being down on the weekend!
When Jeff's family came down three weeks ago before the cruise his dad mentioned that his younger brother would not be going on our wedding cruise because he had school. I was like
So I brought it up to Jeff who was just as surprised and he said he would look into it. Then when I was showing FMIL the wedding location on the boat, she brought up the situation and laughed it off saying she'd talk to FFIL because that is just crazy to not have his brother there. I told her Jeff was planning on having his brothers be the groomsmen and she got all excited and said he hadn't mentioned it. So hopefully it will get worked out.
Anyways. Does your step-brother and step-sister-in-law know about the things you have planned for them? Maybe that will be the nudge they need to work out a way to be able to go.
I hate confrontation so I'd just call him up as planned and tell him about where to get the dress and let him bring up the fact that he may not go.

Hey all -

I'm super crazy busy, so I apologize for no updates. When I get on the boards, I'm usually on my IPhone between class, at my internship or at work! So I really don't have access to writing a full huge post.

Hopefully next weekend, I'll have time to sit and write. I do have a couple of questions. As of Easter, I'll be at exactly 6 months out. My plannning session will be less than a month away.

1. What should I be doing at the 6 month mark?

2. What sort of things should I be doing to get ready for the planning session?

Any insight will be extremely appreciated!

Good advice! I'll start a notebook with questions for my PS. I haven't seen SBP! My dad and step-mom went to see it and loved it. They took pictures on their digital camera of SBP and ADH and they haven't figured out how to get them on the computer as of yet!

I wish I had some advice for you of stuff to do but I got engaged at the 6 1/2 month mark so at about 6 months I was FREAKING OUT! . I guess the only thing I can say is make good choices. That is something that my mother has been telling me for the past couple of months and I just say yeah ok, Mom! So maybe it will have more of an affect on you.
