Sorry for the ridiculous time between the beginning of the TR and now. I lost my mom in January unexpectedly and between that and school, there just wasn't time for anything else. But if anyone still remembers me, here I am, with my TR!
Pre-Trip October 6th, 2009
Rob and I were scheduled to fly out of Boston on Southwest on October 8th. On October 6th, I had to go to school, as I would already be missing too many classes for this shindig. First I stopped off at my internship where they gave me a surprise bridal cake! I honestly had no idea this was coming as I had only been there a month. They had a specially made Minnie Bride Ears cake made for me! This is even more remarkable if you consider I live in an area where Wal-Mart cakes are considered the height of good taste!
I cried (it's a theme you'll hear repeated ad nauseum throughout this trippie!), and had my cake and ate it too! It was uber yummy! They gave me it to take home. Thinking of the 8 hour ride I would have ahead of me that night, I figured it could come in the car with us!
After the cake, I went with a few friends to lunch at Pizza Hut. I ordered a cherry pepsi, which I usually don't. This is only remarkable because I felt as if it was a sign when I saw this in my drink -
Mickey on the brain!
I went back to school to sit through the world's most boring movie about social work. Honestly, I can't even remember what it was about. I was going through what I had left to pack in my mind. (Wait until you see the luggage we brought with us!!). Managed to sit through that (by God's grace) and ran out the door at 3:15p on the nose. Unfortunately, one of my friends was having a hard day, so I didn't get to my car until about 3:55p. When I got to my car I saw a rainbow, which I saw as a sign of good things to come! I took a picture of what I thought was it (as you can see here - FAIL!) and headed home.
Rob had left work early and was planning to take the dogs to the kennel. (Our good friend Laura was staying at our place to watch our two cats and the house.) I got home and made the mistake of putting the Minnie cake on the table as I went around to grab a few last minute things. Two dogs (especially the black Lab Aurora "Rory" Rose) decided that they wanted some cake. So they ate their fill as we were too busy to notice. When I came down stairs, I had no cake left and two guilty looking puppies! EEK! Rob cleaned them up and drove them off to the kennel before we had any more disasters!
After putting all our luggage in the car, we had absolutely no room in the car other than in the front seat. We left Northern Maine at about 5:45p and settled in for the long trip to Massachusetts. My dad still lives in my home town of Worcester, so we were going to stay there until we flew out on the 8th. I reserved the 7th for last minute stuff, but I won't jump ahead yet!
Our trip down was uneventful - this was the picture I took as we finally began our journey -
I popped in Janet Evanovich's "Plum Lovin" audio book and we were off! (I had to make sure Rob was really ready to marry me - what better way than to see than to make him listen to Janet Evanovich!) The 8 hour trip was uneventful. Rob drove until Augusta, Maine (about 4.5 hours south) and I drove the rest of the way as he hates driving in Massachusetts and I love driving like a Mass you know what!

We pulled into Worcester about 2am and fell right asleep...
More to come with October 7th - pre trip day 2!
