Meeting up at MCO?

My husband and I are driving to WDW. The rest of the extended family are flying in a week later and renting cars. I've never been to MCO before and have a few questions. Is baggage claim, and car rental in the same building the plane gates are in? My DH and I are trying to figure out where we can go to park our car. The plan is to meet the family at the gate, help them pick up the rental cars and then have them follow us back to the hotel. Are we able to drive our car near to the Alamo rental car counter? If not, does anyone have a suggestion on the best way to meet up after the extended family picks up their rental cars?

Meet them at your hotel.

You can't go to the gate, you'll have to meet them at baggage claim. You won't be able to park near the rental car. You'll have to meet them at baggage claim, walk with them to the rental car counter, to the garage to get their car and then get to your car. Try to figure out which exit road to meet them and then have them follow you. Makes no sense.


If you're hotel is off the beaten path and they are horrible with directions then have them call you on their cell phone when they are leaving the airport. Have them meet you at a supermarket or restaurant parking lot that's near where you're staying but easy to find.
