Meeting mickey as a solo male adult?

I am very tempted to meet Mickey or some characters , I was just wondering if this would be a bit weird as a solo adult as I know most of the people queueing up are family’s with younger children. Have any of you done this before, what was it like?

The only thing weird about this is that you spelled the plural of the word family with an apostrophe. :jester:

MEET MICKEY AND GIVE HIM A BIG HUG (if it's appropriate.) Have fun!

I apologize if I'm hijacking this post! I just have a quick question... I've heard about a "talking Mickey" that sometimes does meet and greets. I think I'd probably be more comfortable meeting a Mickey that doesn't talk. Where is the talking one? Is that still a thing?
No, he was discontinued a few years ago.

The head was too heavy for the relatively small CMs needed. Some suffered injuries, according to info I recall reading.

It was great fun despite what Mickey said not always being relevant to what you had said to him. There apparently were limits to his list of things he could say, reasonably enough.

I did a CRT lunch once years ago just to get in to see inside and posed with Cinderella who said "We girls have to stick together!" I asked a person to take my picture and I treasure it even today

I’m a 44 year old male and in the last year I’ve lined up solo for as many characters as I found in Disneyland, Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World. I’ve met so many lovely families whilst waiting (100mins in Magic Kingdom for Mickey and Minnie!) and all the cast members and characters helped with pics and were great to interact. Right after charters started meeting again, but no hugging I went to meet Mickey solo! The woman in front of me, also a solo adult! We chatted a bit, took pics for each other and had a great time with it.

We also both had booked a LL for it. You do you and enjoy your time!

Hi all,

thank you!
No, it is your vacation. Meeting Mickey Mouse as a solo male is the same as a solo male waiting in line to meet Trump/Biden, Ozzy Osborne or Michael Jordan....No shame in standing alone. It would be a little creepy if you stood alone in line waiting to meet Vampirina or Doc McStuffins in Hollywood Studios.

Why is it creepy for some characters and not for others?

Honestly we’ve never found any issues with character meets as a late 20s couple and have seen plenty of single adults doing the same.

Treat WDW as a place to be yourself and vacation your way - once you’ve done a couple of character meets you’ll feel totally at ease :)

One of my favorite photos is of me solo with Mickey and Minnie at Animal Kingdom. Late at night in an after hours event that I attended solo, I wandered by the place where one lines up to meet them and—having no idea what the spot offered—asked the cast member. Once she explained the offering, I said to myself “why not?” and marched on in. There were no other guests, and the cast members seemed to wake up when I entered and were delighted to see me. Mickey and Minnie were very attentive, and I am beaming in the shot.

My last trip my husband, son and dad were riding barnstormer, my daughter was asleep in her stroller and my mom and I were sitting with her eating a Carmel apple. I happened to noticed the side with goofy and Donald the lines were pretty short so I told my mom I’d be back and met goofy and Donald by myself. Goofy made a huge deal about it being my birthday and it was pretty cool. No one batted an eye that I was meeting them as an adult alone…though my husband was upset I met Donald without him.

No it is not weird, just don't hog his time with dozens of a different pictures. I would recommend meeting Mickey at EPCOT in the area in front of the Pixar Shorts. The lines were crazy for every ride during the Columbus Day Holiday but the line to meet Mickey was less than 15 minutes. I wasn't willing to use a LL in MK but gladly waited at EP. I also appreciated that he was in his classic outfit at EP.
