You did the right thing emailing Disney.. after all these are Disney's rules about the pools and up to them to enforce or not.. Enjoy your time with your friend.. it is so fun to meet up with friends at WDW.. :)

Sounds like a day at a water park might solve any potential problems.

Who's right?

Good point. It also depends on if you are going to be there during a busy season, I know the BWI has started putting up a temporary fence around the pool. I would think the over crowding of the pool itself would over ride anything.

For this very reason we met friends at TL, I just didn't want to deal with it. It was one of the best times!!

I am anxious to hear the response. We will be in the same situation. 5 of us at OKW and 5 at the CB. I would think that if you take the email with you to show to the pool staff , that they would honor it.

As of this posting I haven't gotten a response yet but I will let everyone know what the answer is when I get one. :D

it always annoyed the @@#%@#&% out of us when we saw the pool hoppers (and they're VERY easy to spot).....

why should someone who's paying $80 at the all stars be able to come over and crowd the pool of the resort where i'm paying several hundred dollars
*****************

First, let me say I haven't pool hopped in years..not since the days when they encouraged it..and then we were worse than the AllStar hoppers..we hopped to the Poly from the campground!!

Second, just how do you tell where people are from? While I don't pool hop to swim, I have sat at Beaches and Cream and watched the crowd at SAB, as well as WL and AK when visiting. When I'm not staying at a mod, but at an Allstars, I wear the same clothes, still comb my hair, brush my teeth, make sure my bathing suit has no rips, etc. I can't tell the difference from the people who stay at one resort vs another.

I also think that's a big presumption on your part, that pool hoppers are from the Allstars. Believe it or not, people who stay at one deluxe resort have admitted to pool hopping on this very board to another Deluxe..and they weren't DVC members.

As I've mentioned before, when we stayed at POR, we had to come visit the stars (although we were told by the lifeguard we could swim..we didn't have suits with us), because that's where my grands prefer, and we'll be going there on their next visit (in fact, to save money April 6th, we're staying there part of our trip without them...and we'll also swim in the Stars cute pools).

I appreciate if you are paying to stay in a fancier place, that you should have the rights to have room in the pool you paid for (and it's up to Disney to enforce their own rules..but they seem to back away from that). I absoultely agree that that is how it should be. But I don't understand, why everytime this subject is brought up, it's assumed the pool hoppers are AllStar people..like that's a dirty word. I can afford to stay wherever I wish..but sometimes I wish to save money and stay at the Allstars. That "save money" mentality may be why we got to retire in our early 50's, and now we get to go to Disney (among other vacation spots) several times a year.

Please don't make people who come to this board asking a simple question, or just to read it, feel like they are cheaters. We already lost one new person the other day after she joined and read another post, and felt like she was a bad person, because she could only afford the Allstars..let's not let prejudices send others away.

I've got to tell you that I'm getting sick and tired of the same people jumping on any thread when someone asks an innocent question about the policies for pool use at WDW.

This is the 3rd thread in about as many days that has turned nasty.
