My luck may be changing!! In the mail today I received my Disney Rewards Visa...just in time since we are leaving tomorrow!! Now for the question..
What are meet and greets? Do you have to sign up somewhere or is there a schedule and you just have to show your card?:confused3 Sounds like a nice perk but I don't really understand it!
Also how do you know which restaurants offer 10% off? Any other perks I am not aware of???? SO EXCITED to have some last minute help!!:thumbsup2

As for the meet & greets: Now I have only done WDW, but it sounds as though DL is the same. There is a specific place and time (WDW was in Epcot from 10-4 or something), you don't know which characters will be there, from what I hear it is usually Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, etc. 2 of the main characters. Anyway, you basically get one on one time w/them & they have a back drop & photo session. I put mine on our PhotoPass card, but if you don't get one, they will give you one. You then have to go to the photo stores to view the pictures & you pick out what you like & get a free 5 x 7.
I would just find out when you enter DL or DCA where/what park & times. You get a free photo per person that has a Disney card (different account numbers), per day. So you can go 4 days & get 4 free photo's (to my understanding). After you get your pictures taken you are given a card/ticket, etc. & that is what you take in for your free picture.
As for what resturants.....it seems to me that I just got something in the mail w/a list - but I am at work. Maybe someone else here can help you with that.
The only other "BIG" perk -IMO - is I charge everything on this card: groceries, gas, bills, Walmart, etc. Absolutely everything possible - if I charge $100 of groceries, I accumulate $1 to spend at Disney. So, on your trip - charge everything, then pay it off like you used cash at Disney. Then you basically get free money for your next Disney trip. Otherwise, I could rarely afford to go.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Can you still do the meet and greet everyday? When we did it in WDW we could get one picture per day per card. We haven't done it at DL yet so I am not sure.

Sadly I have never actually done it :confused3 so I don't know for sure - I am sure though someone out here has.

Yes, it is offerred every day that DCA is open. Yes, you can get one picture per day per card, so long as each card is a seperate account. Ex: dh has his disney visa and i have my own and are each are 2 seperate visa accounts (not 2 visa cards from the same account). We managed to get 2 free 5X7 coupons each time we went. I do believe that meet and greet's are only for the first couple of hours that DCA opens though. So get there early.

Thanks! Is there a seperate door or area to go in at? Is it marked as to where to go might be a better question :lmao:

You go through the mainentrance into Ariel's Grotto. Since teh restaurant isn't open that early inthe morning, there should be a cm standing there to talk to. Just let them know you want to do the visa meet and greet and they'll direct you down the stairs to the characters.

thanks for posting this info..

i have a disney visa..and used it to book my DL vacation online..
but and didnt know i was entitled to some other perks...

just called and they added it to my package!!

When you visit these restaurants, the cashier will ask if you have an AP. Just hand the person your Disney Visa card. They should tell you about your discount when they give you the total. If they don't, check your receipt to see if it's there. It should be listed as an AP discount. Ocassionally you will run across a new CM who doesn't know about the Visa discount.

We do the Meet and Greet everytime we go in the am. It is in Ariel's Grotto restaurant, which is in the back of DCA, toward the Screamin' coaster. Everytime we've gone, DCA opens at 10. Meet and greet is from10 to 11:30 (when restaurant opens for lunch). Two characters are there at a time and they change and 10:30 and 11:00. We've met Mickey & Goofy (twice) and Chip and Dale. When you enter the restaurant, there is a CM who will ask to see your visa card for entrance. You walk down a flight of stairs to the greet area. The CM will again ask for your card, you meet the characters, take your own pictures, and have pictures taken by the photopass photographer. Later in the day, visit the photo store in either DL or DCA. When you view your photos, the CM will again ask for your visa card and will give you a voucher for a free 5x7 photo. You use the voucher when you pay for your selected photo/photos (at a separate cashier line in the photo shop). We only have 1 account so have only been able to get 1 picture. Everytime we've gone, we've been the only ones there and had lots of time with the characters - 10 to 15 minutes.

Your visa card also gets you 1 free stroller rental per day.

Grendel, What did you add to your package? :confused3

Thanks for all the info! If I understand correctly then it happens only at DCA in the early AM hours by Ariel's Grotto....

You guys are great!!

Actually, you are entitled to TWO free stroller rentals per card, per day. Just remember to bring your picture ID with your Visa because they will request it.

oh it wasnt anything that great..

they give you a free "Dreams" backpack.
some preferred seating thing...

i had already gotten my confirmation for booking online...and it didnt have
any of that...so when i called they took care of it..and made sure any little extras that were part of the Disney Visa...appeared as part of my package.

Another great thing about this is that you don't have to pick the meet and greet photo as your free photo. You can pick any of the photos on your photopass.

I've heard mixed reviews on this one. Some say they have gotten to pick their photo, and others have said they had to purchase the one taken at Ariel's. I guess it depends on the CM you get? Doesn't hurt ask, I'm sure.

Thanks! Now I can go straight there and not have to figure out exactly where it is located. The one at WDW took us a little while to find and when we did there was no line so I thought maybe they weren't doing it that day. Turns out they were :thumbsup2
