What kind of medical insurance do you purchase and where? I've never had to think about it before because when I was working my benefit plan covered us when in the U.S. However I lost my benefits when I lost my job and dh's employment doesn't offer benefits so.............????

We always get ours thru CAA which I believe is Manulife. My husband is covered thru Great West Life with work, but I've heard horror stories using work benefits. A lot of htem you have to pay up front & then submit your claim to them so we always just pay extra & get CAA before we go.

When we got our medical last year thru CAA it was $43 for DH, me & DS.

Check out Presidents Choice Financial Insurance. You can buy it online and it's quite reasonable.

I get mine through the same place as my house insurance
120.00/year for medical/trip cancelations/etc... for the whole family.

President's Choice is TravelGuard I believe. I think they're quite reasonable as well, but when I checked, CAA was still cheaper for us.

I go thru CAA and get medical & trip interruption/cancellation. I get a family, year coverage.

We have travel insurance through TD Meloche Monnex. We pay monthly, totalling about $120 a year for all of us. Covers unlimited number of trips (medical, cancellation and trip interruption) with a max duration of 60days per trip.

We have ours through our Homeowners policy. $82 for the entire year for our family of 4..unlimited trips up to 30 days each trip. Have used it once in the past 8 years with zero problems.
