Hi guys, I've been reading lots about medical insurance in USA and how much can cost you a simple visit to the hospital if you don't have a private insurance. We are traveling to WDW (two young adults) on September for two weeks. I've been given a site www.insuremytrip.com and it gives you the different costs for different insurance companies. We live in Italy and are Italian citizens so we are international visitors.
Can you recommend me an insurance company??? or package?? or website?? I'd like it to be for medical insurance and also for natural hazards (I know september is known for hurricanes' season).
Any advice will be appreciated it.
TIA

Not an expert, but I'd imagine you'll have to arrange with an Italian Insurance Company , don't think a UK insurer will cover you.

Have a great time:)

ask your bank first. If you hold a credit/debit card you may already be covered by some kind of insurance (cancellation/delays/emergency medical care) if you pay at least a part of your booking with your card.

then ask your insurance company. I don't know about Italy but here in France you need to have your house/appartment insured (wether you own or rent it) and these insurance policies usually include some kind of coverage for travels abroad.

most travel agencies will try to sell you insurance policies for things you're already covered for

So the first step is to know what you've already paid for and what you're insured for.

there is definitely travel insurance available in italy - just ask around..
do you have a Travel Agent?
they would know..

one thing to be sure your insurance includes - medical evacuation...
it's a must...

it means the insurance will cover taking you back to italy in a special medical evacuation aircraft if needed......they cost something like $50,000, but if you're insured it's covered..

you don't want to be stuck in the states with a grave medical situation..
so be sure you get medivac coverage included...

by the way, i believe there are UK insurance companies that provide travel insurance for non-uk residents, but i'm not familiar with any of the UK companies, so i can't give you any names to check..

Thank you all !! I learn so much in this site it's crazy!! Thank you thank you :goodvibes

Martina don't worry and thank you so much, I'll be cheking that out now! Enjoy your trip to Venezuela and have platano frito and guacamole for me!! :cool1::thumbsup2
