Hi Everyone:

I just did some research on Deb's site and found that a roundtrip reservation is cheaper with Tiffany Towncar that with the Mears shuttle. Has anyone ever used these and can give me some info? I've only ever rented a car or driven all the way ~ never used these companies...Thanks so much!

We have used Tiffany 2 times. They were waiting for us at the baggage claim area each time, and were on time picking us up to return to the airport. Cars were clean, and we had requested a booster seat each time which they provided free of charge. I think with Mears you are in a van, and they have several people, which could make for a longer trip to the hotel. Tiffany is very quick since it is just your family.

Cartier Town Car works well too!

We used them recently and were very pleased. Clean Cars and very Friendly. They even surprised us with a Stretch Limo for our return to the airport!

We've used several of the towncar companies, and we've never had a complaint!!! Good, quick service to the hotels - in clean cars!

In Nov/Dec, 2000, my mom and I, along with 2 of my DDs flew and arrived around 9:30 AM. We had met several other families on our flight - all of our children decided to cry for the first few minutes of the flight (mine started it). Anyway, our driver was waiting for us and we went to the All Star Movies. We checked our luggage, waited in line to check in (my mom took the kids to the gift shop and they watched the movie). Our room was not ready, so we decided to head off to Epcot. We had to get our luggage again for our jackets since we would not be coming back to the hotel til late that night. As we were walking to board the Disney buses, we saw one of the families we had flown in with getting off the Mears bus, just arriving at the hotel. Using the towncar services is definitely quicker because you don't have to make any other stops at any of the other hotels - and when you are ready to go back to the airport, you don't have to allow extra time to stop at any other hotels.

I would highly recommend the towncar services.

We used TTC. It was SOOOO great. No lines for cabs, or rentals. No stopping at lots of other resorts, before they get to yours (like Mears). Help with your bags. You can request a grocery stop too, to stock up on Water and snacks, which saves $$.

They meet you at the luggage turnstyles, and watch for your flight, so they are right there.

Depending on how many in your party, and how much luggage, you may want to request a van. They are $10.00 more, but still worth it.

Good luck and have fun:D

The first time Hubby and I flew down we were not aware of all the options avalible to us. (pre internet for us!) We planned on taking the Mears shuttle and using the little coupon that Disney sent us. When we got out of baggage claim and headed near the Mears desk we swiftly changed our minds. It was MOBBED!
We saw all the taxis and went that route instead. The last time we went. (still pre internet!) We planned to use the cab from the beginning. This trip we are using a town car service. (not sure which one yet!) I like the idea that if we get stuck in a traffic jam I don't have to worry about the meter eating up all my spending money! If you have more than 2 people (adult and kids) I think a town car is going to be more affordable too!:D

How far in advance should one make their reservations?

Note: I was just reading Tiffany's website. I am really surprised they don't take a deposit. I wonder how many people book a car and then change their mind and leave the driver waiting there at the airport.

I was finally able to convince my sister to use a towncar service last Aug when she and her family came. She chose Tiffany and said it will be the way she does the airport transfer from now on. She had always used Mears in the past and hate having to wait at the airport for the bus to fill, go to a number of hotel before getting dropped off, and having to be out for pickup about 4 hours early. She much prefered the towncar route. They were waiting in baggage area for her, holding a sign with their name on it. Once the bags were grabbed, the driver helped them with the bags and they went straight to the car and were on their way. She was at PO in less than 45 minutes. She also thought Tiffany's service was great. Even though she hadn't asked for one, on the ride, the driver asked if they wanted to stop at a grocery store (she didn't need to, had me waiting at the hotel with a cooler to take her shopping).

And to top it off, the cost of the towncar was less than Mears for her family (2 adults, 2 children)
