Mears Connect vs Mears Transportation

Anyone have a clue if there is a difference? https://www.mearstransportation.com/ and https://www.mearsconnect.com/ The interface is a bit different between the 2. I got a great deal on private van for family of 7 through Mears Transportation and started 2nd guessing. So I either made a huge mistake somehow or I found a little loophole as they transition to the new operating plan.

Booked POP! to MCO for our 11 PM flight on 3/11. Only $106 flat rate for private van for my family of 7. That's less than taking Mears Connect at the $16.50 rate and getting picked up an hour earlier. We don't need the round trip Express option as we have other plans on the front end of our trip. Go! Airport Shuttle was $153 last week, then when I went to book today it was $180.

The booking engines actually are different for Mears Connect and their private transportation options. The only site to book Mears Connect is mearsconnect.com. mears.com will take you to the black cars.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Kinda ticked that Go! price increased. They have been my "go to" for other trips and markets. Maybe someone else here will pick up on that and get the good deal. Too bad Mears Connect doesn't offer one-way right now for Express service.

Same company, just two different services. Mears Connect is a new service specifically for airport transfers to WDW-area hotels, it operates somewhat similarly to the former DME service as there are multiple stops and you are in a shared bus with other travelers. Mears Transportation is the legacy service via a fleet of Mears vans, taxi cabs, sedans, etc. that services the entire Orlando region (they can go beyond WDW and the tourist areas whereas Mears Connect is only for the WDW area)

I checked both options for our upcoming trip this month. One way from the airport to the hotel for my family of 5 in a private van or suv was $119, and Mears connect was $155 round trip. I’m thinking I’m picking the connect for my trip.

Yes, that would be a significant price difference, but it’s a very different level of service.
