MeanLaureen's Useless Poll of the Day - Weds! I'm Late?

How punctual are you?

  • I am habitually late and it's all my fault

  • I am habitually late but it's all the fault of my "better half"

  • I'm usually late but I've been known to surprise you now and then

  • About 50/50 - it depends on the day and event

  • I am hardly ever late but once in a blue moon you catch me on a bad day

  • I am never late - always where I need to be at the right moment

  • I'm so anal about not being late, I'm always early for everything!

Good morning everyone :)

First, thanks Kayla for taking over my poll while I slept in long enough to make a teenager proud :teeth: When I woke up around noon, I realized that I was seriously late for my poll, but luckily it had been covered.

Which gives me my topic for today's poll. Lateness. How punctual are you?

Poll coming!

I can't stand being late...it drives me nuts! As a result, my goal is to be at least 10 minutes early for everything. I can't tell you how many times DH and I have driven around neighborhoods waiting for 30 minutes until we can go to a party at someone's house. :rotfl:

I don't like being LATE
but I HATE being to early to something

It depends on the the event and the day i guess

i run about 50% on time

DH bugs the daylights out of me
he doesn't really care either way
we can get somewhere 30 minutes early or Late
and he is OK either way

I do not like being late.. It's like my DH and I are night and day.. He just blows in on time... or a few early.. but I'm at least 15 mintues early to everything...

My hope is.. at the doctors office.. fill out paperwork..get me in as close to time as I can.. (small office thank goodness or I'd give up on that issue)..

The only time I am major early is school programs/funtions... that you have to be there 40 minutes early or there is NO parking except for back at home and walk... or NO sitting because of course you have to save seats for your neighbors, their friends and their friends' friends.. Both our families live far away so we just need sits for our immediate family.... so it gets pretty full and upsetting when you have everyone staking claim to 20 seats!

My kids know if they are going w/ mom.. if mom says we are leaving at 15 til..they need to be in the van by 20 til because I'm pulling out of the drive at 15 til with or without ya! LOL

I hate being late and I'm really to quote lewdyan1 "anal" about it at times. Though I'm going to be late for work this am because I slept in and am reading the disboards. I'm not really late since I don't have an official starting time but I should be there earlier.

My question is "are people who are usually late more relaxed and happier than those of us who frantically rush to get there early or on time?"

I sometimes feel bad because I have a kid who has traits of OCD and ADHD, and he has a mom who is crazy...So I feed the OCD with hurry, hurry, hurry... and then his AHDH makes him so scattered he can't get his rear in gear!
It makes for fun mornings!!! My DH calls it my drill sergeant voice when I try to get the family going in the mornings! :teeth:

The problem comes in when defining "late". Sometimes people do not seem to have a clue that being late is rude to those who have to wait for them. I try to be 5 minutes early to appointments.

I personally hate to be late. If I am on my own, I am usually early, especially to things like doctors, salon appointments. DH, on the other hand, is always late! It used to bug me, but I've adjusted for it. If he says he'll meet me at 5:30, I show up at 5:40 instead, and he'll come along shortly. If we are going somewhere together, I am usually able to keep him on schedule--unless we're going to see his parents--we're always late for that. Hmm...maybe I don't push him along for those visits.

I'm anal about being late. Unfortunately half my friends are either hispanic or deaf or both and are known for being late.

You know, I hate being late most of the time, and I'm really punctual for work and appointments, and picking up the kids and such, but occasionally I just can't get it together, and arrive a little late. Like at my wedding...I was still at the hall, setting up in jeans and bandana, and the guests start arriving. Hmmm, maybe that was a sign...
