MeanLaureen's Useless Poll of the Day - Wednesday! Over the Top or Underneath?

Which way is toilet paper supposed to hang?

  • It should hang so it feeds from the top of the roll

  • It should hang so it feeds from underneath the roll

  • Nobody in my house ever puts the darn roll back on the holder

  • You know, it never occured to me it should go one way or the other - we just stick it on!

Well, since a few of you have asked, I will continue my "Useless Poll" series that I did on the Community Board for over a year while I was a moderator there but now on the new Creative Community Board!

The polls are just fun fluff to fill the day... nothing deep, nothing debatable unless you are really into whether TP should roll from the top or bottom ;)

And since that was one of the more argued polls on the CB, I think I will start us off over here with that age old question...

Which was should the toilet paper feed - over the top or from underneath? Or does nobody in your house ever replace the roll to begin with and it just sits there ;)

The roller thing broke in the girls bathroom and i never bothered replacing it
since they never put the roll on it anyway
and In our bathroom  I gave up
DH wouldn't know where to find the TP if i put it on the roller thing
he is so used to just setting it onthe shelf or the floor

I think it should feed from the top of the roll but I have no idea why or even why it matters to me. Hmmm, wonder what else I have random strong opinions about.

As of right now.. the holder is still broke... DH won't put a new one up until he remodels the bathroom...and this also allows me not to have to clean up the rolls of TP through the house with a 2yo I babysit for!! I can put it up on the shelf and he can't reach it!

However, when I have a holder.. it's over the top!!!

I like over the top. However, when my beautiful cat was alive, I had to change it...He loved sitting on the toilet, and spinning that roll. It was fine when the paper was put on underneath. But when I forgot and put it over the top, I would come home to a paper mountain in the floor. Once he unrolled the whole thing, he would then play and sleep in his new found "Angel Softness". Made me laugh every time!

I can't believe this is even a question, you'd be shot if you put it up wrong in my house. You use less squares when it comes from the top. :teeth:

Cheaper than buying a cat bed!

My dad once worked with an ex-military guy. In the military, tp and paper towels must feed from the top (at least when this guy was in). Anyway, just to bug him, everytime he left the shop, the guys would turn the paper towels and tp to feed from the bottom. He would immediately change it upon his return. This would happen several times a day. Dad said it was really fun to watch... :rotfl2:

Ya know, as the mom of all boys, it always amazes me what they find funny. And what stays funny as adult men...

I can't tell you how many times I have looked at my boys and wonder what I am doing to cause some poor girl out there somewhere to hate me.... :lmao:

You see, its stuff like this that got me my nickname MeanLaureen. This SO sounds like something I would do. :lmao:

I'd much rather be focusing on these so very important topics than going to work! :confused3

Of course, from the top!

Well, it was a cross b/w no one ever puts the roll back and I never noticed which way it was supposed to go. We actually don't have a TP holder upstairs. Dh never put one in when he added that bathroom. And downstairs, that roll will hang empty until I put it back on. That all being said, I don't think I've ever paid attention to which way it went on. But you can be sure I'll pay attention now! :teeth:

Well, no one in my family changes the roll but me, so that is how I voted!! I swear, they are so lazy, everyone just sets the new roll on the empty roll and it stays there until I go in and change it!! Why is that?? LOL

At my house the TP goes over the top.....imho that's the only right way! :)
My Mom prefers it going under & is sure her way is the right way.
Every time I use her bathroom I switch it & everytime she uses my bathroom she switches mine.......we drive each other crazy with it :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Over the top, it's less likely to drag on the floor and anyone with boys knows that you don't go into the bathroom without your has-mat boots on.

Mom always puts in on underneath if she changes the roll here so I have to flip it. As for the guys, DH included, they never put the roll on.

over the top....and since I am the only one to replace it  , that's how it always is! :teeth:

TP goes over the top. It never mattered to me until DH said I was doing it wrong, so now it is top over only! :teeth:

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: OMG!! You all are cracking me up the last 2 nights!! :rotfl2: My DH sticks it on the back of the toliet!! :furious: But when I put it on, it always rolls from the top!! I think I'd lose sleep any other way!!

Keep 'em coming!! You guys are great!! :cool1:
