MeanLaureen's Useless Poll of the Day - Thursday

Do you like store bought, scratch made or box mix cake the best?

  • Store bought - what bakery do you get it from?

  • Scratch made - but by a relative or friend

  • Scratch made - a recipe that I have

  • From a boxed mix

  • I hate cake (can someone actually hate cake???)

Good morning everyone!

Well the week is halfway over and I have to go back to work.:space: :( I got absolutely NO rest on my vacation/recuperation time off. Because of my doofy brother we had to finish the remodel on the living room in warp speed instead of baby steps. Why couldn't he be visiting next week instead of tomorrow?? :sad2:

Well I see we are up to 115 smilies.. How cute is this one? :thewave:

I'm going to have to have another smiley election with the new guys to see if we can dethrone the champ

Anyway - on to today's poll topic - CAKE!

"Do you like store bought, scratch made or box mix cake the best?"

I'm the last option.;) Cake triggers migraines for me, so I avoid it. I'm a pie or cheesecake person.

I always make my own. You can't beat home made IMHO

Koncannons in Muncie Indiana and Vogles in Marion Indiana make cakes better than I can. I think its the icing I like!!

My favorite cake in the whole wide world is the Pepperidge Farm frozen golden layer cake with chocolate icing.

My Aunt used to make the best from scratch cake ever but she never gave the recipe to anyone thus taking it with her to the grave.

Everyone remembers how good her cakes were and people used to pay her to make them for her.

Oh well box mix for me.

I picked "from scratch made by me" only because the one time I did that, it was the best cake I have ever had. However, I like to make cake mixes from the box, tend to get the "butter recipe" ones as they seem much moister.

We have a local bakery that makes the most wonderful moist cakes with the best icing! For the curious, it's Country Table in Mount Joy PA.

Store bought here. The Publix bakery is great...and I will MISS them! :( Anything and everything is good...buttercream, carrot, even the sugar-free! Yummy! :teeth:

I am afraid that I must inform you that you have missed a category in your poll of the day.

There should be a spot for.............I don't care where it comes from.........I love it all :cake:

:p

I usually buy cake at a local grocery store. It's not bad. However, if in this life I ever get any time to go back to baking....I have a pretty good scratch chocolate cake receipe I used to bake.:)

Packet mix perferably.........just easier & no messing around;)

Safeway has some really good cakes. There is also a wonderful bakery in Monterey, CA called Layers. They make a rich chocolate cake called Death by Chocolate. :teeth:
