Good morning everyone!
Another week back to work *sigh* Once again I blinked and the weekend was over!
I had unexpected company yesterday. My brother and his family brought my mom to visit. Those of you that remember my story know what happened to her. For those that don't.. she has lived with me since 1989 and I've been her caretaker. Easter weekend she fell and broke her hip. She never really recovered from the surgery very well.
She lived in a rehab home for a month where they said she would never regain the ability to walk and be on her own again, and since I have to work to have my insurance. plus with me battling my own disease which is crippling, she had to go live with my brother 75 miles away.
My relationship with my mom was a very close one although sometimes hurtfull. My mom is not the nurtering kind. Being sick is something to be ashamed of. There were no hugs and I love yous.
I told her all my setbacks with my illness and work yesterday and for once she didn't criticize. Last night as she was leaving (which btw, she was walking with a walker when the rehab home said she would never be able to do) and I told her to remember that I love her. She actually told me that she knows and loves me too... and that "You have a lot of moxie, girl. I admire you. Don't let the pain get you down"
. My mom has never complimented me like that.
Okay, I had to get my weepy story out.. ignore the above, move on to the poll
In VH1's "The List" book, they have listed the top 11 songs from the 70's. Do you agree and which of them is your favorite?"
