MeanLaureen's Useless Poll of the Day - Happy Fourth of July!!

"What is/was your favorite type of personal fireworks (not professional)?"

  • Regular firecrackers like black cats or Mega firecrackers like M80s and Cherry Bombs - which do you

  • Sparklers - for those "daring" types ;)

  • Bottle rockets

  • Pinwheels - I have fond memories of nailing these things to trees and fences and lighting them up

  • Roman Candles

  • Fountains - the kind that are stationary and send up showers of sparks that change colors

  • Shells - kind of like the "at home" version of the professional fireworks

  • Spinners - ground and flying - I got chased by one of those once..lol

  • Snakes or Strobes - snakes are those black pellets that you light and the ashes grow and grow to loo

  • Smoke bombs or stink bombs

  • Snaps and party poppers - for those of you that are real wild childs ;)

  • Other or I hate fireworks!

Happy Fourth of July Everyone!!!

Well it's a pretty dreary day here in Richmond! Looks like it will be stormy all day. Probably be a lot of big outdoor plans cancelled :(

For me, no outdoor plans. Only indoors. We are working full speed ahead on redoing our bedroom and making one of my mom's old rooms into a guest room. I had my best friend from High School call me on Friday out of the blue. I haven't heard from her in years. She's going to come visit me for the weekend on the 17th! Yay!

Well, lets move on to the poll question

Keeping with the 4th -

"What is/was your favorite type of personal fireworks (not the big displays you see at WDW or on the 4th)?"

used to love playing with fireworks of all kindas,, buyt as i got older andrealized just how dangerous they are,, i really dont think they should be available to the general public. Especially after my baby brother got his eye blown out at 10 yrs old,, while playing with them under close adult supervision..

All fireworks are illegal in our state (except for professional shows) and have been for more than 30 years so I have no idea what those fireworks in the list are!

I don't like fireworks all that much.

Bottle rockets with report (sp?). Sparklers have scared the crap out of me since I was a kid! Adults were alsways handing them to us!

I love watching a professional show, but hat personal fireworks. They are illegal here, but that doesn't stop people from shooting them off :( I'm always afraid one is going to land on the house.

I'm not a fan of personal fireworks - they scare me.

I voted for Fountains - they are legal in some areas of central VA. Not where I live but there is a stand right on the outskirts of the county and people run there to buy them all the time. I especially like the ones that scream while the colors change :)

You would think that I hate fireworks considering I blew up my hand once making a firecracker - that is right, attempting to make a firecracker - at 10 yrs old. Whoulda thought friction between two pieces of paper would ignite that stuff   I got really bad burns on my left hand. I might have been a pretty smart kid but I did some pretty stupid things - that darn no fear thing..lol

I remember having a sparkler ONCE as a kid. Not a fan of any outside of the town shows.

Used to drive me nuts in FL when people would do their fireworks out in front of MY home!! Hey!! Go do it in front on your own and potentially set it on fire...not mine!

:wave2: Lauri, Happy Fourth of July to you and everyone else.

I chose other cause I like the chinese lanterns, but of course my second would be sparklers. I remember playing with them every new years eve and fourth of july and will continue that tradition with my daughter.

I used to love Pin/Catherine Wheels as a kid::yes::
