So I go out of my way to go cut cake for the graduates at school tonight. DD comes with me to see the kids one last time. I'm there doing something nice for people I don't really even know and this is how I'm repaid.

Someone stole my golf umbrella. Leaving me and DD with her little kid one. Who does that????

It's freakin' pouring out because of this tropical depression.

And I believe it was no accident because it was with DD's umbrella and her rain boots.

I've had that umbrella for 20 years and it was in perfect condition. DH and I got it when we were dating.

Hey thief, here's a clue. When you come in, from Church no less, without an umbrella, don't freakin' leave with one!!

I emailed the "head mom" of that class saying I expect it to be returned this week to school. If it doesn't show up, I'm gonna be pissed.
Sister couldn't believe it. She said hopefully the guilty conscience will make them return it. I said if they had a conscience, they wouldn't have taken it in the first place.

I hope they get struck by lightening.

ETA:
Yes I know in the grand scheme of things in the universe, a stolen umbrella is not that big of a deal. But it's the principle.
And I've had a crappy week and very little sleep because of the 7th grade being responsible for the happiness of the 8th grade.

Yup, I totally agree. I too am sending a hope of a good lightening strike:rotfl2:
How rude to steal an umbrella, that's almost as bad as the person who stole my DD's Disney crocs from chuck e cheese!!! Left her with NO shoes to go home with.

Agreed - I would be ticked at the principle of the thing too. The thief knows it is not his umbrella.

A few years ago I went to a book signing and bought three copies of the author's book to give away as gifts. I also got to take my picture with the author, so that took a few seconds. By the time I turn around to pick up my books, the guy who was ahead of me in line tries to walk off with MY stack of books. It's not like he accidentally took the wrong book, this was a completely different quantity of books. Dude - you KNOW you did not buy three books! And this was a grown man who looked to be at least in his fifties, not some teenager trying to get away with mischief.

Sorry Buffy, but there will always be those kind of folks around!!! Have a feeling if they don't return it, you will recognize it on the next rainy day! Hope your weekend is a little better...

As I told you last night Buffy that bites!!!

Some people just are too selfish.. only after their own needs. :(
So sorry that happened...

Sorry this has happened Buffy, I can't believe the nerve of some people. Hopefully whoever took it will give it back.

Crappy! People are so self-centered lately. Hope it turns up!

Who needs extra drama in life? Especially in all that rain yesterday? Your comment about what you hope happens to them made me truly LOL!:rotfl:

My (grown) kids love to make fun of me when I complain about Church people or Church drama;) "Well, that's not very Christian of you, Mom, is it?" But, honestly, shouldn't one expect a higher level of awareness of "right versus wrong" when dealing with people at a Church function?:lmao:''

Karma is a @#$#@, one can only hope! :rotfl2: Deb (Church Lady, well isn't that special! )

bummer! just goes to show that parents aren't teaching their kids common courtesy for others!
sure you will be on the look out for it everywhere you go!

Thanks for joining me in my pity party. I'm still mad. and kicking myself about taking that umbrella instead of the Ikea ones that are only about $5 to replace. A good golf umbrella is about $50 now.

Stealing shoes? Stealing cars? I just don't get people. If I do get my umbrella back, and I will be looking, I'm gonna ask. I want an answer and "I don't know" or "I didn't think it belonged to anyone" is NOT an acceptable excuse.

It shouldn't surprise me though. We had a separate space for cake specifically for the graduates with special plates, etc and the pieces were a little bigger. There were only 12 plates, one for each kid. No lie almost every single person tried to take those pieces for themselves. I was shocked, I was like no those are for the graduates. the most common response, "but the other pieces are sooooo small" Uh not my problem, I had to cut one Big Y sheet cake for all of y'all. If you hadn't brought 200 people, then I'd have bigger pieces. As it was I had to dig out cupcakes out of the fridge for back up.

As it is, this whole class has had an all about me attitude this past month. They had the gall to give us a customized list of food choices for each kid but gave us no budget and no head count. And to date have not given us a dime.

awww that is so sad Buffy

got a good quota for you for the rainning

"Mommy, the rain drops looks like pixie dust when the hit the ground"
(hmmm can you tell we got rained on??)

I'm sorry for the loss of your good umbrella. Even if you don't get it back, I hope you get an unexpected blessing in return.

Thieves are the lowest of the scumbags.:sad2:

My son had his camera stolen at Disneyland. He sat it down while we ate lunch in a crowd and when he looked back for it-it was gone. We put in a claim at lost and found but it was never returned. Ruined that poor kid's whole vacation to California. I was so sad for him-as I am for you. No one deserves to have their things stolen.

That is just wrong!:furious:

"The rain it raineth every day
Upon the just and unjust fella
But mainly on the just because
The unjust hath the just's umbrella"

(I remember this from an article about the history of umbrellas in a Bunty annual I got one Christmas:rotfl:)

So the umbrella was never returned, and my email was never replied to.
I found a nice golf umbrella at target for $20, and DH got a really really nice one from work when he started the new job. So now we have one at home and one at the RV. Needless to say those things don't leave my sight! Today the RV park had a breakfast for all the seasonal guests and we had to bring the umbrellas with us, DH was like let's just set them here out of the way. I was like uh no way Jose! Lol
