I have booked things seperately myself, ie flights low cost airline, accomodation via DVC which comes with park passes.

I have been browsing through a tour operators brochure big name operator who are offering a meal voucher £20 for an adult, where you can eat at most restaurants, this covers your dinner (evening meal).

Is this on offer for people who are not booking via a operator, or is it just exclusive to the tour operator.

Seem like a good deal if we could pay up front for our meals

I have googled it.

And i should have put it at E20. Anyway 4 meal vouchers with the most expensive being E28, and they offer a child one, E10.

If the meal goes over this you have to pay the difference.

I might order this and it is paid for upfront, and pay the difference when it comes to it.

PJ - where abouts did you find out about this, as we have booked everything separately and the food vouchers sound a good idea

We always take the vouchers. You don`t have to worry about the cost. Mostly its enough or you pay a few Euro`s extra.
Its depends how big your icecream dessert is.

No without kidding its a good deal. Do you have the list where you can and can`t eat with the vouchers?

We used the meal vouchers on our Oct.04 visit - they were great for helping to budget, I arranged it so that we had a meal paid for everyday, lunch one day, dinner the next and so on.
The only problem we had is that they are printed with the restaurants you can use them in, because we were out of high season, not all restaurants were open and we did end up having to change our plans a couple of times, because the restaurant we'd planned to eat at was closed - obviously this wouldn't be a problem in high season. :)

I have also done this for July, when we booked the holiday I also booked the four of us 2 meal vouchers each. Figured it would lessen the money load once we were there.
Looking forward to seeing where we can use them too.

Just found this thread and I've been thinking of posting one myself on whether there was anything like the WDW dining plan!

Can you tell me where i can find information on the vouchers and where to order them from?

16 of us are travelling in October and me being the only true Dis freak I'm feeling a little pressure on food planning and budget!!!

Cheers

Lynn

Thanks guys, I've looked on the sites and it states if meal value over the amount on the voucher you have to pay the difference - so is there any point in having the vouchers? Or is it that these set menus are only available at that price to voucher holders?

With the WDW dining plan we could chose any first, main, dessert regardless of cost. That really does take the worry out of food spending, and also allows you to try restaurants that would otherwise be out of your budget.

Is it worth paying up front for vouchers? What are the benefits?

Sorry, too many questions I know, but I've had 8 months of no Dis planning and its back in force! Its so addictive!!

Hi,

I wont like to buy the vouchers as they dont give you any discount on the meals. Teh only reason to get them is when you want to pay upfront for your meals.
While at DLRP you can decide where to eat or not and you are not fixed on the restaurants mentioned on the vouchers.

Just my opinion.

The set menus are the same price, the vouchers have just been designed to help you budget.

Like Renate said there aren't any savings to be made but it means it's possible to pay for meals in advance. :)
Sometimes DISers mention they are taking other family members/children's friends on holiday with them. I should imagine these are really useful then.

Plan away all you like!!! :goodvibes

Thanks Elaine and everyone else,

The Disney bug's bitten me again (every May this happens!) and I've started pricing up for next year to WDW again!!!

Just heard about the tesco voucher scheme so maybe there'll be another trip to DLP as well!!
