Good evening everyone.

I have a couple of questions for you:
We are going to disney on the 19th Dec for 4N/5D staying in the HNY.
At present we haven't booked any meal vouchers as we want to eat where they cannot be used (Rainforest Cafe etc)
I wondering about whether or not it would be beneficial to buy some Disney share? as I see so many of you have them, or just pay for meal vouchers?

If I was to buy share how do I do it and what benefits do you get etc?

I live in Germany (British Forces) but do have a UK bank account.

Many Thanks for your help

Hello Rachel :goodvibes

I don't know if it will be different for you being Armed Forces but even with my UK bank account I couldn't buy shares via the UK as I live in France for tax purposes.

There's loads of useful information on this thread

Meal vouchers aren't worth it for most people as like you say they can be too restrictive

:)

Where you live shouldn't have any bearing on whether you can or not buy shares though to take advantage of shareholder perks, should it?

It means that you can't buy shares through Halifax and therefore the procedure is not the same as listed in nearly all the threads on this board.

In France buying shares isn't really done through a bank but through a broker so there are extra fees for example that you don't have in the UK going through Halifax.

If Rachel has to buy them in Germany I don't know if it's a bank or a broker or who/whatever deals with share purchases ;)

But of course you can live where ever and own EDL shares and have the perks.

We decided that it wasn't worth it for us and have AP's instead :goodvibes

Rachel - being BFO should not impact you buying shares via a UK bank. I would sugest opening a Halifax share dealing account, although you may need to use a UK address to register. It's all done by email and web these days.

But to be honest I would wait a while to buy Euro Disney SCA shares as they have hit a year high at the moment up 8.12%. They closed at 6.39 on Friday after The Walt Disney Company buy out rumours were published last week in TIME.
