So I made our food ressies today (my last bit of must do planning) but I'm having mixed feelings about a few, any thoughts are welcome. Ariel's Grotto and House of Blues brunch are musts. Then we have Big thunder BBQ, Catal, Ralph Brennans and Goofy's kitchen for Breakfast. I'm a little nervous about GK since I've read some pretty mixed reviews. We are big foodies so a daily sit down meal is a must for us.

Ralph Brennans
The food was good, had the waiter's favorite dish. However, just wasn't worth the price for me. I'd much rather eat Tortilla Joe across the way. A bit cheaper for better tasting food IMO. One tip about TJ's. The inside and outside have separate hosts.

Big Thunder, nice to sit down in a relaxed area of the park for a meal. Food is good and service tends to be attentive.

House of Blues: haven't had lunch here in a long time do I can't recall the food. I have enjoyed drinks here after many of the other Downtown Disney restaurants have closed. Can be a bit loud inside if a band is playing that night but usually plenty of tables outside if you don't mind running to the bar for drinks.

Ariel's: Always have had a fun breakfast experience. I'm sure lunch is just as good with more food choices. Nice bathrooms. I enjoy the Cove bar, although service can be a bit slow, even on a slow night. WoC view is merely OK and I would not recommend viewing WoC from here for first timers. You can't see the screens.

I really enjoyed Ralph Brennans, we went with 4 adults and a child, everyone enjoyed their meals. We sat outside, could still hear the music that was being played inside, and got to enjoy the nice weather and people watch. Goofy's Kitchen was just OK at best. The food at Storytellers  (IMO) was better BUT we liked the more classic characters at Goofy's. Sooo if you're going to Goofy's for the dancing with Goofy, character interactions, and the atmosphere you will enjoy it. If you want gourmet food on top of that, you will be disappointed. I've been wanting to do the Big Thunder BBQ and Ariel's Grotto, have always heard good things! Enjoy (mmmm Disneyland food)!

If food is more important than character interaction I'd suggest Storytellers Cafe over Goofy's Kitchen!
