Hi, I been to Disney about 13 times now and have new thought of the meal plan. My next trip is in November and yes this time we are thinking of trying the plan. Just two adults.....

Maybe it's just me, but I cannot understand the plan. I was interested in getting a 5 day plan for each of us.

I understand for each day We would get 1 snack 1 counter and 1 meal.

Does the tax and tip get paid also by this plan?

What is a Snack?

What is included in a counter?

Is the entire meal included (appitizer meal and desert)?

I have read so may postings that I just don't seem to grasp this one.

Any info you can supply me would be greatly apprecisted. It does look like you can't beat the price.

thanks :surfweb:

The meal plan sounds great! We are going to be using it on our next trip, and anticipate saving tons of money.

Tax and tip are included on the meal plan. Nothing has to be paid once you get there, other than any food you buy if you use up all your credits.

The definition of a snack seems to vary from place to place, but it generally seems to be anything under $4. I've heard you can get quite a lot for a "snack", and many use it for breakfast.

For counter service meals, you get an entree or combo meal, dessert, and drink included.

For table service, each person gets an appetizer (which could be a salad or soup, or an appetizer), an entree, and a non-alcoholic beverage.

It seems like a ton of food, but also a great value!

Good description...but don't forget the best part of the whole thing...everyone also gets a dessert with their table service as well. :cool1:

It should also be noted that, whether Guests book the Dining Plan as part of a Disney Vacation Package or add it on to their DVC stay on points, the plan must be purchased for all persons on your reservation and for the same number of nights as your stay.

First to get the plan, you must purchase a package. This includes room and tickets (unless you are staying at DVC on points - then you don't need to purchase a ticket). You must purchase the plan for every night and for everyone staying. So if you are staying five nights, you would purchase five days of dining, getting 1 snack, 1 counter service meal and 1 table service meal per person per night.

Yes - the only thing I haven't calculated is if they charge you tax on the dining plan or not - I'm going on free dining this Sept and I plan to purchase with DVC in Dec, but haven't yet.

Snacks are marked with a symbol at the places that sell them. They include water, drinks, ice cream, popcorn, bakery items and many more items that cost under $4. However not everything under $4 is included.

Combo meal (or entree plus side), drink and desert at listed counter service locations

I'm buying in Dec because it will give us freedom to order what we want and when I compare what we would likely order (which is less food than the plan includes) it still costs less or at least even and we can get more. I think it will be a good deal. Now, if you eat off-site or many Signature restaurants or if your eating patterns don't match 1 counter server & 1 table service per day, it might not be. However, we usually ate that way, just didn't order an appetizer and desert for each person every meal.

.

Snacks seem to vary from place to place....some places are really limited like water/soda/ice cream as listed in the brochure...other places have markers on things that are included.

The counter service is a combo meal or an entree only not an entree with a side. If the menu at the restaurant lists an item with a side then that is a combo but if it list just the entree you do not get a side.

I have seen listed on here several times that when you purchase the dining plan there isnt tax added to the purchase price but I'm not sure first hand.
