Just wanted to clarify something I'd heard. So, if using ME bus from the airport, we don't need to find our luggage first and bring it on the bus? I heard WDW takes care of this.

Correct. Just follow the instructions in your Magical Express packet and attach the included bright yellow luggage tag around your suitcase handle. Your luggage will automagically appear in your resort room by three hours after you check in there/your room is ready!

If you arrive late at night the hotel may hold your luggage til the next day.

If you arrive after 10:00 pm, you will need to get your own luggage.

Your luggage will arive in your room 3 hours after you check into your resort. Have everything you will need with you for the afternoon/eveningthe in your carry on and go have fun.

Actually, it's up to 3 hours. A couple of times, our bags have been delivered less than an hour after we checked in at our resort.

It can also take more than 3 hours, primarily if your airline loaded your bags on a later flight than the one you flew on.

Thanks!! I guess I will get the yellow tags closer to the time I will arrive :) It's 7 months away... but I just can't wait!!

If you want one of your carry on bags to "magically" show up in your room can you put a yellow tag on it and give it to the bus driver or do you have to schlep it with you onto the bus?

The only bags that "magically show up in your room" are the bags that you check with your airline at your home airport. At home, you'll put the bright yellow tag around the handle, and, at the airport, the airline will put a regular "MCO" destination tag on the handle. Then, at Orlando Int'l Airport, Disney takes control such bags "behind the scenes," sorts them, and takes them to WDW resort hotels on trucks.

Yellow-tagged bags never go on the DME motorcoaches.

Putting a yellow tag on a carry-on bag accomplishes nothing. The driver can load your carry-on bags into the baggage hold of your DME motorcoach, but the bags will be returned to you when you reach your resort. You would then carry your own carry-ons to your room.

Thank you sir. I appreciate you being very thorough. I have done the ME before however we have our dd who was thinking of bringing her suitcase onto the plane and we weren't sure if we could. Just trying to save money :teeth:

The bag will be stowed beneath the bus you are riding on...and handed to you when you get off at your resort.

I have been standing in the DME bus line before, while next to me there have been families putting on the yellow DME tags on their bags. It would seem that they went to baggage claim, got their own bags and then put the tags on the bags. Now, that's a wee bit backwards. Perhaps they arrived on international flights, where they had to go through customs, with their bags, and decided to just keep the bags with them. But they could have tagged the bags in customs and had DME take care of them.
The whole point of tagging the bags is to not have to worry about them....no going to baggage claim, no schlepping the bags yourself.

Sure, you can pack a carryon bag in order to save some money, but you are going to have to keep it with you...all the way to your resort.
