ME luggage question!

Well...just after posting here, I got our package in the mail! Thanks to all that calmed my nerves! Very excited.. ...anyway...I had asked a CM if we could put the tags on our bags for arrival but not ride the bus. I was told I had to ride the bus to get my luggage transported. My parents are going to meet us at the airport with their car rental and want to drive us in. I thought it would be much easier to just put the tags on the luggage and let it get delivered. We are using the service, bus and all, for our return flight. Has anyone here been able to get your luggage delivered to the hotel but not ride the bus? I'm sure the CM is right, but wanted to check just in case!

Your luggage will not be transported until you board a bus. They scan your voucher in order to see who's there. If you are planning on driving in with your parents I would just leave the tags off and grab your bags from the baggage carousel. You can still use DME for the return trip.

Unfortunately, no - DME is a transportation service rather than a luggage delivery, they won't deliver the luggage if you haven't boarded a DME bus. When boarding the DME bus your voucher is scanned and that prompts the luggage delivery feature.

You can skip the yellow tags and pick up your luggage as always to ride with your parents or or just take DME including the luggage delivery feature and meet your parents at the resort.

The good news is on the return trip if your airline is a participating airline you can check in and transport your luggage without riding the DME bus.

Sounds like the opposite of what you wanted though...
