i would like them to just bring the luggage in the middle of the night, when do i tell them this, at the airport or check-in?

If you use your DME luggage tags they will deliver your luggage to your room when they get it - regardless of the tiime. If you don't want them to deliver the luggage in the middle of the night you need to tell them so at the front desk when you check in. It wouldn't hurt in your case to mention to the CM when yo check in that you DO want your luggage delivered to your room regardless of the time.

In my case I arrived at MCO with two young dd's at 9:30 and I did not want luggage in the middle of the night so I skipped the luggage delivery and the tags and brought my luggage on to the DME bus myself.
