ME for someone NOT listed on hotel reservation?

That's good to hear. I'm glad that WDW is trying to stop the loophole for people scamming the system.

Just to be clear so as not to be misunderstood. We were staying on site and did have our room keys with us or we would not have been able to enter the park at all. We had a package with our tickets on the key. We were not trying to scam the system but Disney did not seem to be bothered by those that might be. For all they pay attention people could be bringing back old key to the world cards to get entrance as well because they do not look close enough at the cards to read the dates on them. We have always stayed on site with a package so no need for us to try to scam the system.

You sound like you're talking about getting into the park - you have to show your room keys now (for every person) to get on any rides/attractions, not just for park entry. That is the way they do it now since no wristbands are issued, so taking your advice on not worrying about EMH would not be advised.

No I am talking about EMHs.

However entering the park most of the time they would just wave my son on in without even asking for his park ticket. Esp. if he was in his stroller. I had to tell them to wait a min. while I scanned his card otherwise we would not have been able to get fastpass for him. Had this happen one day at MGM. Didn't realize until we got to the fast pass machine at Toy Story Mania what had happened. It seems like if a child is in a stroller they just assume they do not require a ticket.

I wasn't suggesting that you were trying to scam the system. There are, however, many people that do. The more people that "sneak" into an EMH, the more crowded they are and the less of a benefit they are.

Your experience seems to be quite different from what others are describing - not sure if it has changed or you had an unusual night.

As other posters have stated, all of you need to proceed to the DME area together upon arrival. Then the guest without a reservation needs to go to the Mears desk RIGHT NEXT TO DME. Then you all should be directed to board the same bus.

Once you arrive at the resort, you can add you mom to the room without package components, and she will then have a room key and then can ride DME back to the airport.

People...this isn't the Theme Parks and Attractions board. The discussion of EMHs whether or not you need to show your room key there has no bearing on transportation.
Please stay on topic here.

Hi Everyone,

I am new here but not new to Disney. I have a situation similiar to original question. In Aug there are 4 adults on the reservation, my 9 year old nephew is going to stay with his grandparents (at their timeshare offsite) but is flying in with us. They are going to meet us at Animal Kingdom Lodge that night and pick him up. I know we can not get him on the ME, however, if we buy him a Mears tickets would they gty he would be on the same bus as us? This planning is hurting my head :sad2:

No, they probably would not guarantee it.

But, you have passage for four people on ME. You might be able to have three adults plus the 9 year old on the ME bus, and have one of the other adults buy a ticket on Mears. It's not as though ME is checking ID.

However, if you all proceed down to the DME area together. Have one adult purchase a Mears ticket at the Mears desk RIGHT NEXT to DME, then just stay together as you are directed into line, it is very likely that you will be together.
