I would like to link my sisters and their families to my MDE account. I've asked them each to create accounts for their families so I can invite them to share in the planning. My sisters will be the only ones in their families to have MDE accounts, but I want to be able to plan for everyone in their accounts. Do I have to send an invite to each person individually? (All people are adult ages, if that matters.)

You will need to send an invite to the people(your sisters) who have an MDE account, you will not need to send an invite to people they manage. Once you are linked you will be able to make plans for everyone on their accounts.

Sorry, but that's not correct. To make plans for any of their connected friends managed profiles, they need to connect with those managed profiles (which is easy to do).

They need to go back to their Family & Friends list and select 'Add a Guest'. The default option is to 'Find through my connected Guests' which will display a list of your friends managed profiles and any of their connect frields. Just select the ones you want to add to your Family & Friends list and select 'Done'. An invite will be sent to the person that manages the profile to approve the request.

Sorry, but that's not correct. To make plans for any of their connected friends managed profiles, they need to connect with those managed profiles (which is easy to do).

They need to go back to their Family & Friends list and select 'Add a Guest'.
