Disney invested billions of dollars into FP+ and MDE, and THEY WANT their guests to use the APP in the Parks, yet they couldn't use any of those billions to put in a good free wifi system for guests to use at the park. Glitchy APP + spotty wifi or cell service = :confused3

On our more recent trips, we haven't had much Wifi problems. However, when the wifi first rolled out it was AWFUL. As of last February and November we didn't have any problem with WiFi or Verizon service.

Remember they had a Deal with VZW, MDE (well the predecessor to it) was only available on VZ phones.

Remember on the other thread I spoke of a Pre MyMagic+ system. If you look at Kim Possible/Agent P THAT was a game that was built on the old original system. You can see a lot of elements in that game which are basically prototypes of what we have now.

haha I remember being annoyed that I couldn't download that app on my Verizon Wireless iPhone, because it didn't have iPhone support at that time

Nope it needed that special unified VZ java middleware.

All the VZ phones of that era ran the same interface. I had a Star Tac and later a Razor and some other junk phone at the time from VZ. They all had the same interface. As soon as I got the phones I would hack up the cable needed to reflash them with the factory default interface.

The phones worked so much better without that VZ layer of junk on them.

VZ lost a bunch of customers to AT&T/Cingular due to the iPhone. They tried to get me to come back telling me how horrid the iPhone would be. When they tried to get the iPhone from Apple, they tried to get a bunch of stuff pre-installed, Apple basically said "Nope, you take what we are offering or pound sand."

I agree about the app...anytime I have tried to do anything with the app since I have been at the parks, it hasn't worked. What a waste.

We were in MK yesterday and I had no problems with the Wi-Fi or app.

it's good to hear that at least the wifi has been better. The APP I guess is hit or miss with people. You never know if it is going to bug out or work great.

Not questioning anyone else's experiences, just offering my own ... The Wi-Fi worked great in January for us. The app, for me, has functioned at an above average level ... that said, pretty much every app I use has bugs and needs to be constantly improved. I'm hoping that Disney will continue to make improvments to it and the website.

I remember being so frustrated with the wifi and cell phone service in the parks last year. This year in June I noticed a big improvement, but I will admit that I maybe looked at the MDE app twice the whole week. I pretty much had all our FP times memorized and I wasn't trying to shuffle things around while we were there. We have some crazy high speed internet at home since my husband insists on it for work and his games, and even at home the app itself has always been glitchy for me.

WiFi has been better for me. But data is still spotty outside the parks, which makes it tough to use MDE on the buses ... you know, when it would make sense.

The app doesn't seem to work well at the parks I agree. Even when I'm running on my own data. It's very slow in the parks. I had better luck going onto the website. We were there last in May, before that April, before that March. Each time it was slow, would time out or we'd get an error message.
