I’ve never gone with friends before, at least not well before cellphones and apps, and would like to share some plans with some acquaintances. What can people do and see when we link MDEs and friends? I would like to share maybe ride photos (memory maker), but definitely not all of my plans although we’ll have some dinners together. We may go to the same parks on some days, but not all.
Is there a way to do this and still not have them know what I’m doing all the time? I hope that makes sense. I’d call them “good acquaintances” but not someone that I’d be ok with having them see everything! Photos of course are fine, and I’d like photos of them as well, and some dinner reservations that we make together.

You can set what you want them to see. If you click to see only shared plans they will see less. If you don’t click only shared plans they’ll also see your unshared ADR’s, future reservations, park reservations where they aren’t included. I’m probably missing something.

Can we still see all of each other’s photos (I’m ok with that) and then only our shared plans? If I set it up, and they share all their plans (maybe inadvertently or on purpose), I can see all of their plans but they can’t see mine? Not that I’m doing anything weirdly private I guess but I’m comfortable with photos and our dinners together but maybe not our LL or ILL choices or other dinners. I guess I don’t want them to see if/when I spend more money or make expensive choices if that makes sense. Or worse, cheap out on things. :)

I don’t want to say “Oh, I don’t want to do CRT because I’m saving money” and then have them see that I spent THAT amount on something they might consider more frivolous, if that makes sense.

Also, I was just looking on my own account with magicbands, and because my friend Jean came with me in 2020, I can deactivate her magicbands. I want to make sure stuff like that can’t happen, even inadvertently.

In July, I set this up for myself. My friend could only see our photos, our hotel reservation because my son and I were on her reservation, and any shared meals. I could see all her future hotel reservations, her photos, all her ADRs. Park days were confusing to me, because her party of 2 and mine went our own way to different parks and it would show 2 reservations for 2 without specifying which were hers and which were mine. We just agreed that I wouldn’t touch her park reservations and she wouldn’t touch mine.

She probably needed to modify it on her side too to only see shared plans, I think. I am linked to a friend and have mine set to "shared plans only". I don't know what she has set. On the web, I could only see days that we had the same park reservation from my plans. If I clicked on view details for a park reservation, I can then see all of her park reservations. It definitely gets confusing if you can see everything. I always have to be careful to not change her park reservations, because it will allow me to select her.
