MDE and Fast Pass+

I realize this has probably been discussed here before and I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for. So I am hoping someone can help.

We are going in August and I have the MDE app on my phone and have linked our Room/ticket package reservations. We have made dining reservations.

I am now trying to be prepared for the date that FP+ opens. I went into the app and went into the FP+ section and it asks if i have a package or tickets bought seperately. When I click on package it asks for my confirmation # to link my reservation, but i have already done this and it all shows in the App.

If i try to add it again it tells me that that my reservation is already linked to an account.

Is it just not allowing me to do it because the window hasn't opened yet for our trip?

I just don't want to get caught off guard the day I CAN actually make reservations.

We haven't been to WDW in 6 years so all of this is new to me and I feel somewhat silly because we used to know so much about the World.

Thanks to whomever is willing to shed some light on my issue, I just don't want to wake up the morning I CAN make reservations and find out there is a real problem.
 
When I was planning our trip for this past April, I was in the same boat, it was also our first time with FP+. We had a lot of problems with the app not working properly or as expected, and were also worried that we wouldn't be able to get the FP times we wanted. Whenever I had questions, I called 407-939-7765, I forget where I got that number, but it is the Internet Help Desk, they were always helpful and able to answer my questions and/or fix my account so things were linked properly.

As far as FP reservations go, my brother logged in at 1AM 60 days out and got all the rides we wanted. That was totally not necessary, I was able to log in over the next few days and tweak the times no problem. Happened to me too. I'm a big planner so it made me nervous. Everything was fine when the actual time came to book FP +
