MCO to Port Canaveral hotel - car service recommendations

For our upcoming cruise we are planning to fly in the day before, landing in the afternoon, and spend the night at the Hampton Inn near Port Canaveral. Does anyone have recent experience with a car service to get from the airport (MCO) to the hotel? We do not want to rent a car. It will be just two of us (adults) with luggage. Looking at the options, it seems like there are a lot of companies to choose from. We have used Mears in the past (pre Magical Express) to get from the airport to WDW, but we don’t have experience with any other companies. I know that Uber would be another option, but I would like to have transportation booked ahead of time so there is one less thing to worry about.

Also, if anyone has stayed at that Hampton Inn recently, do they have a shuttle to the port, and do you need to book that ahead of time?

How far ahead do you need to book?

Mears is always a good reliable option especially since they are the official airport transportation provider endorsed by MCO.. You could book either a private car service with a dedicated driver or a Mears shuttle..

We used Mears a couple of times years ago, before the Magical Express, and they were fine. I’m leaning toward using them again for this trip. We already have our return to the airport booked with Mears Connect, and DCL ground transportation (which I assume is also Mears) to take us from the port to WDW after our cruise.

Would definitely recommend calling them an mentioning this when you book, not sure if it would make a difference but perhaps they can try to link your reservations or at least note that you are a repeat customer, everything helps..
