11:00 am sharp arrival at airport via southwest non stop, taking magical express to Contemporary, check in and walking to Magic Kingdom.

Anyone want to advise how long this should take on a good day? 3 hours arriving at MK at 2:00 pm? Or is that too ambitious?

Even rough estimates would really help!!! Debating whether to spend arrival day at a park and where to eat. THANKS everybody

You could easily be in the park by 2:00 - probably closer to 1:30.

Always err on the side of too much time...so plan on the 3 hrs. When you're at CR, and all checked in, by 1, you'll be thrilled. Don't plan any ADRs until a bit later...just in case.

If you use the luggage transfer service or have only carry-on bags, it's theoretically possible that you could be at the MK entrance in 90 minutes. However, for planning purposes I think three hours from plane to MK entrance is a better number to use.

CR tends to be the last resort for drop offs on its DME bus runs (although the order is not set in stone), so it's not likely that you'll get there in 60 minutes, but it also typically takes less than 90 minutes. Check in can take five minutes or 30 minutes (or more). Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

Thanks.

What's the online check in that I keep seeing posted here? Does it really save a lot of time? What's the procedure?

Starting 10 days before arrival you can (or should be able to) go on the disney.com site, call up your reservation and check in for your room. That includes adding a credit card for charging priviledges and a couple of other things. When you arrive there should be a package waiting for you at a special "Online Check In" line at the front desk. It can save a few minutes, but there are limitations. The ability to make room requests, for example, is very limited.

Don't forget that just because someone uses online check-in it doesn't mean their room will be ready when they arrive.

Correct. Checking in online or in person doesn't mean that the room will be ready until the official check-in time. Online check in simply streamlines (in most cases) parts of the process that you otherwise would go through with a CM at check in.

And as has been posted in another thread, your room may be ready at some point AFTER "official check-in time".:lmao:

And, FWIW, check-in time for DVC units is later than for regular rooms.

Got it. Thanks!
Think I will use the online check in as I don't have any room requests or special requests...just Bay lake view CR. Oh, I did request crib but guess I could always call down for that later if not provided. And yes, I did realize our room may not be ready. Hoping that it will but we won't have luggage yet anyway if we use ME (which I'm still debating and going back n forth about a million times!!!). We are National club emerald aisle members so it's hard to do ME when I have that and avoid rental car co. but it would be nice to save some money w/ME. Another issue!

Anyone want to comment....ME or rental car with a 4 and 2 yr old going to CR?

I would definitely use ME. It's a lot easier with kids than a rental.
