We will be arriving about 9:30pm the night before our Dec.5th Wonder cruise. We really wanted to stay at the MCO Hyatt but we have points for Sheraton. Since it will be late, how long does it usually take for the shuttle from the Sheraton? We will have 3 tired kids with us. Is it worth using the points, or paying for the Hyatt's convenience? If I knew we could get the Hyatt on Hotwire or Priceline I would rather do that, but of course no guarantee. :sunny:

We stayed at the Sheraton and had no problem. We arrived at 11pm after a cross country flight. Got our bags, picked up the phone for the shuttle bus, the hotel is about 7 minutes away. There is a whole circle of hotels, suites and residence inns just off the airport property.
Only thing we didn't do when we checked in was sign up for a time for the shuttle bus back to the airport, which I would recommend you do. The shuttles go every 30 minutes. By not signing up the night before we had to wait 30 minutes, no big deal for us. And they dropped us off right at the Disney buses, we walked into the terminal, check in and walked right on the bus for the port.
They also have a good breakfast buffet.
I think it cost us $69 for the room for 4 of us, 2 adults and a 16 and 12 year old. The cheapest rate I've seen for the Hyatt is $120, so if you have points, it's a no brainer to me, the Sheraton is just fine.

We were very happy with the Sheraton Suites Orlando Airport last month. It was an excellent value for just 3,000 SPG points.

At the airport, we called from a courtesy phone in the baggage claim area. We were directed to a pickup location at the curb, and we were told 20 minutes. The shuttle was there in less than ten minutes. It was a short ride from the airport to the hotel.

I had arranged for Tiffany Towncar to pick us up at the Sheraton Suites the next morning. It was very convenient not having to go back to the airport for the trip to Port Canaveral.

I just went through this same debate with myself last night. We're arriving at 11pm the night before our cruise and I had originally booked the Hyatt airport for $177. I was also concerned with sleepy kids and waiting for a shuttle. I checked out nearby hotels and started leaning towards either the Hawthon Suites or the Sheraton Suites. A quick search on the boards showed positive experiences with both of these. I ended up selecting the Hawthorn Suites because they are now part of Hyatt Gold points and they included a hot buffet breakfast. Not to mention the fact that I saved $80 and even though it's only one night, we'll have more room. DH will take the shuttle back to MCO in the morning and pick up the car at National.
