MCO and Reserve Plus

Hi. We are flying home out of MCO in a few days. I have been trying to find an answer to this question but couldn’t find something directly on point. My family and I have TSA Precheck and are Clear Plus Members. I know that the separate Clear Reserve Program does not allow you to combine the three programs and instead just allows you to book a security reservation line. Can I book a Reserve spot and then cancel if the lines for Precheck are better? I also don’t want to take a potential spot away from other families. Is one typically faster? We are flying out on a Saturday morning. I was thinking about booking Cleat Reserve to ensure we had a specific time to go through but wasn’t sure if the Precheck and Clear combined would be faster typically.

Why worry about getting a reserve spot, especially if you don't want to take away that spot from someone without Pre/Clear?

Get the airport two to three hours before your flight (pushing three if you have to check bags) and utilize your existing Clear+.

ETA: I'd normally try to target walking through the doors of MCO 2 hours before flight, even with checking bags, but I'd assume Saturday will probably be about the busiest MCO would get for departing passengers. Not only do you have those taking vacations (whether Disney, Universal, beach or otherwise) during Christmas/NY break, but you also have those attending the bowl game on the 31st who could simply extend their vacation for a couple days.

With Clear+ and Precheck, it's highly doubtful you'll be waiting more than 10 minutes. With just Precheck no more than 15. Even if Reserve works perfectly and you end up with a zero wait time, you are probably still going to wait longer in the actual lines for the screeners than the whole process will take with Pre. Saturday morning will be much lighter on the Clear and Pre side than the standard side, it's not a busy business travel time. And I'll wait an additional 10 minutes to not have to take my shoes and belt off or take anything out of my bag.

The plain TSA PreCheck line by itself (without Clear) was faster than the Clear + TSA PreCheck line at MCO a couple of months ago for us.

Also remember that Clear Reserve cannot be used with TSA PreCheck or Clear Plus.

If you have a Clear Reserve reservation, you will join the general TSA line (where shoes, electronics, etc. must be removed).

I see that now, thank you.

Though I am Clear Plus, I did not know the difference between Clear Plus and Reserve.

I posted the differences here to clarify and to maybe help others who also may not have known the differences.
