For the past few years they have closed the park at 6:00p and re-opened it at 7:00p for the party.

From 6:00p to 7:00p they are busy clearing out the park and getting it ready.

It's very festive and fun. There's snow falling on Main Street, the Christmas Parade is shown twice, the Christmas fireworks at 9:15p, and there are special Christmas shows.

There's a free souvenir photo, free hot choc and cookies and there are characters throughout the park and of course, the rides to ride.

We LOVE going and wish we could go every year.

Me, dh, and 3 year old dd went last year and my dh is still talking about it as his favorite Disney trip ever! It's definitely worth it. I can honestly say I thought it was more crowded than I expected but we were so busy doing party stuff we didn't get to any rides. We saw the parade twice. Our dd actually made it to 11:30pm it was so exciting. We are definitely planning to do it again some day. We didn't make it to all the stuff but it was so much fun!

they dont completely clear the park. They run it like an EMH. At some point during the day they will start to hand out wristbands at several locations around the park. After 6 they will start to point guests without wristbands to the exit.

We went last December and it was soooo worth the money, we had a blast. DH said it was one of the highlights of the trip for him. It is worth it to subscribe to Tour Guide Mike if you decide to do it, he has great touring advice for the party! My kids loved the Fantasy Land character hop (I of course HAD to participate, for the kids of course) where they have a DJ and characters come out to dance with the kids, I think my daughter would have stayed there all night, she developed a real thing for Geppeto.
The parade is amazing, the snow on Main Street is cool, and my kids SWORE it was the best hot chocolate they ever had. We rode a few rides, but spent most of our time doing the different things that are only available during the party.

I was told on the MVMCP thread that you could get into the park with your party ticket as early as 4pm. Which would be great since we don't have hoppers- we can do a short day at MGM and still get some time at MK that day.

Yes, but that is unofficial and subject to change, although I doubt they'll change it but you never know. They've been doing it unofficially since 2001.

MVMCP is a lot of fun...you won't be sorry for putting out the extra $$!!! DH ( :goofy: ) & I have gone the past 3 years and have enjoyed it each time. It's just a totally different atmosphere to go through the MK when it's all decorated for the party & to see it snowing on Main Street.

There's different Christmas shows that can be seen only when you attend the party, not to mention the free cookies & hot cocoa :cloud9: , the 2 parades and the special Holiday Wishes fireworks! The characters are also decked out in their holiday best and are located throughout the park for plenty of photo ops. The ride lines were very short & most of the time we could walk right on - a big plus in my book!!!

Oh...they also "unofficially" let us in the gates with just our party tickets at 4 p.m., but like BeattyFamily said...that is subject to change.

Go & enjoy yourselves. You'll be so glad you did!!!

I have my tickets and did MNSSHP last year .But reading this thread just made me wonder what to stop me from just staying one night and watching the Fireworks and Parade if I don't have a Ticket for that night.

I wouldn't do this because it not showing DD the right thing to do but anyone have any Ideas of how many people must do just that.I know they checked our wristbands for the rides and our Ticket for the Photo but that was it.

Thanks everyone!! I am going to talk to DH about it, though I know he will say go for it!! :yay:
