McDonalds Recalled Some of their Dog Happy Meal Toys *Updated with reason*

Does anyone happen to know why?

Nope! My DS got one the other day. He plays with the toy while we're at Mc Donalds but when we come home the happy meal toys go in the trash. The majority are junk anyway. The dogs are cute though. Would have probably kept it if it was a collie~!!

Wow, where did you hear this? I can't find anything about it. We just got some yesterday too!? The only thing I can think of is that the collars (which come off) may be a choking hazzard.

I haven't heard that. My ds got a pug the other day and my puppy loves that thing.

I haven't heard about this. i can't find it mentioned anywhere, including McD's website.

After a looking into it a bit more it looks like they recalled only 2, maybe 3. The West Highland Terrier and Siberian Husky have been recalled. The German Shepard is a possibility. Figures those would be the ones we needed LOL!!

The one Mickey D's by me told me yesterday that they were discontinued which is what prompted me to look into it. They had taken down their display and they only had a few more toys.

We have a beagle and a black lab. Of course my dd is 20, so I'm not worried about a choking harzard.

I just got one yesterday too. I though the whole thing was a little wierd and my DS was only moderately interested in it. What I would guesstimate would be the eyes coming off or the collar as mentioned above.

Did anyone see that there will be video games next!

I hated McDs growing up - I loathe their hamburgers, but somehow my wee one became an addict after only going twice. How does this happen??????!!!!!!!

In case anyone is interested, the reason the toys were recalled is "failure to produce" which means that they did not have enough materials to produce the ordered amount.

So its not really a recall, more like a discontinuation, right? Or was it a recall?

Yes it is a product discontinuation. Corporate Headquarters did recall the toys though so that they would not be distributed.

still coming with the happy meals here in nw ohio tonight got two happy meals with 2 different dogs, saw a third dog in the drive thru window. Asked the girl who was working (her mom used to babysit my kids) about the doges being recalled and she said they hadn't heard anything about it.
