MAYbe we should go back to Disney World-A May 2012 PTR;6/7 Link to TR-Post#592; p. 40

Love your DHS plans! We are big fans of that park, too!

I had to laugh about driving vs. taking the bus. DH would drive everywhere. . .he thinks it's quicker. . .but DS's FAVORITE ride at WDW is the Disney Bus!! :rotfl2:

Hmmm. . .I looked at hours when they first came out. I guess I need to go back and check them out again to see if they changed! Something to do during a little down time today! :thumbsup2

That milkshake looks delicious... although I can't help looking at it and thinking it looks like someone ran their fingers through it. I just keep staring at and seeing finger ridges...

Great plans!

That sounds like a good plan for your HS day. I love the Beauty and the Beast show but haven't seen it in the last couple times we've been. I definitely want to see it next year along with trying the Animation Academy.

We've missed Fantasmic on our last few trips. I love the show, but the wait and the crowds usually keep us away. I try to schedule it every couple of trips.

Of course, when we did schedule it every trip, we usually got to see the "storm clouds of death" rolling in while we were waiting. I think we've had a rained-out Fantasmic two times in probably five tries.

Great DHS day, though. We are skipping it this trip. We will be at AK that morning and the pool that afternoon.

We aren't going to this park this trip, so we'll live through your pics ;)
Every time I think of DHS Beauty and the Beast it reminds me of the first time we saw it. We had to sit outside in the sun and humidity waiting for a special audience member to get to go backstage before coming back out. We waited for what seemed like forever before Jane Seymour got seated. I just knew she was the Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman even though we didn't watch the show. I did not like the heat. . .or the wait. Needless to say I was not a happy camper:mad:, nor did it lead to me being a big fan of her :rolleyes1

Great DHS plans, I love that park! :thumbsup2 I'm surprised they haven't extended the hours for your week, that's weird!

Yay for going to Disney this month!!! :dance3:

Sorry I've been MIA, but I'm all caught up! The plans are sounding great so far. LOVE the countdown calendar. The teacher in me also likes how it can be be recycled, too. Elizabeth must be so excited right about now. E keeps saying everyday now how she wishes she were a senior. You're going to Disney THIS month!:dance3:

Hi Michelle! I'm all caught up on your daily plans - everything sounds great! You've got some really fun days planned! Love the countdown calendar as well! :thumbsup2

Woohoo for going to Disney THIS month! :woohoo:

Sounds like an awesome DHS day! It's a favorite park of mine, as well. RNRC and TSMM are just so much fun!:thumbsup2

And I agree, Sci Fi isn't the best food Disney has to offer, but the milkshakes there are worth the trip there!

Sounds like a fantastic day at the Studios! We seem to have all of our favorites in common, especially that milkshake:rotfl2:

You are not the only one hoping for an extension of hours near Memorial day.

I wonder what numbers Disney is looking at!

I wonder what they're waiting on.... I want to have those definite park hours! :thumbsup2

DHS is one of our favorite parks too, and F! is our favorite Nighttime Event.

So glad to read someone else ranks F! high on their list too! :)

Great plans, Michelle. I would add one thing...."One Man's Dream" if you haven't seen it. I'm with you...love Beauty & The Beast (I just posted an update about it with lots of pictures from our girls trip).

Thanks, Kathy! We have actually been through "One Man's Dream a couple of times. I must admit though, the last time was on our NYE trip in 2009, and if you read the TR, you remember that I actually took a little nap during the movie! SACRILIGIOUS, I know! ;)

Mine, too! Even though we drive to WDW, we've always taken the buses everywhere. Once the car is parked at the resort, it doesn't move until we check-out, LOL!

That's right---The car is staying parked for a week! :thumbsup2

On a better note... 3.5 week dance, :dance3: :dance3:Woo Hoo!

:woohoo: It's getting closer and closer, and it seems to be happening very quickly!

I always love AIE too. But yeah, you have to wonder how much longer they'll be able to keep it up. They've cut back on the number of shows each day which means the finale isn't as long either. :(

I didn't know that they had cut back on the number of shows. I did see some pictures somewhere and it seemed as if there were lots of empty seats.

Great DHS plans. I love DHS, although it will probably be a different experience this time with a 14-month-old in tow! I really like your peace-sign shirt. I saw those at AK a while back and searched all over but never found one in my size. :( It's so cute.

Confession: we've never seen Fantasmic! I've heard it's pretty intense (?), so we may save it for a future trip when DS is older.

A 14-month old will definitely change your experience in any park---It will be different, but still fun! :) Fantasmic! is great, but you are right in saying it can be intense. You'll probably want to wait a while for that one!

The peace-sign Mickey shirt belongs to my oldest daughter. Sometimes I have to borrow things...... ;)

We haven't done the Animation Academy, but plan to! It looks so cool!!

I said I'd let you know about the MS math job. Well, I didn't get it, but I felt pretty priviledged to get an interview. The principal told me they had 90+ applicants and they interviewed 6! Next time...

You will have to try the Animation Academy---I think you will really enjoy it! :thumbsup2

Hate that the job didn't work out for you. I'm surprised that they had that many people certified to teach math. Around here, certified math teachers are hard to find---It definitely makes it easier to find a job!

The rumor mill is twirling around the idea that Beauty and the Beast may be replaced - I think it might have said with a Tangled show(?). Can't remember where I read it, and I do think there are better things than Tangled to replace it with, but who knows?

NO! Say it isn't so! I have never seen Tangled, but I cannot believe that I would love any story more than B & the B. :worried:

I had to laugh about driving vs. taking the bus. DH would drive everywhere. . .he thinks it's quicker. . .but DS's FAVORITE ride at WDW is the Disney Bus!! :rotfl2:

Kids always like taking the bus, don't they? When she was younger, (elementary school age), my daughter begged to ride the bus to/from school. We have a transportation fee of $300-400 a year for bus riders. I was like, "No way---I teach at the same place you're headed to. No way I'm going to pay for you to ride a bus!"

That milkshake looks delicious... although I can't help looking at it and thinking it looks like someone ran their fingers through it. I just keep staring at and seeing finger ridges...

Great plans!

 You're right! It does look like that. I'll tell you what actually happened. One of my kids had already poked around in it with their straw, and spooned some out. I told them to use their spoon and smooth it down for the picture, and that's how it turned out!

I definitely want to see it next year along with trying the Animation Academy.

Animation Academy is so great! It's one of those things I would have never tried or even know about if it wasn't for the DIS! :thumbsup2

We've missed Fantasmic on our last few trips. I love the show, but the wait and the crowds usually keep us away. I try to schedule it every couple of trips.

I can't stand the waiting in line crowd, but the past few times, I've just gone in right at the last minute. I wait behind the dinner package reserved section, until they open it up for anyone about ten minutes prior to the show! ;)

AH, a celebrity sighting at DW! ;) My kids would be like, "Who is that?"

I will take plenty of pictures for you! :)

Great DHS plans, I love that park! :thumbsup2 I'm surprised they haven't extended the hours for your week, that's weird!

Yay for going to Disney this month!!! :dance3:

I know---What is Disney waiting on exactly? Don't they know I need to know these things? ;)

Yay for going to Disney in just a few days! Lucky you! :)

Elizabeth must be so excited right about now. E keeps saying everyday now how she wishes she were a senior. You're going to Disney THIS month!:dance3:

That's ok, Barbara! I know how crazy the month of May can be!

Yes, Liz is pretty excited. I think she's had "senior-itis" since about March! ;)

Hi Michelle! I'm all caught up on your daily plans - everything sounds great! You've got some really fun days planned! Love the countdown calendar as well! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Courtney! Hope everything's going well for you! :)

And I agree, Sci Fi isn't the best food Disney has to offer, but the milkshakes there are worth the trip there!

Yes, they are! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a fantastic day at the Studios! We seem to have all of our favorites in common, especially that milkshake:rotfl2:

I love a chocolate milkshake! :) YUM!

WOOHOO for THIS month! :woohoo:

I'm a huge fan of F! It's definitely my favorite night-time show, but no one else in the family agrees ... so we never get to see it. :sad2:

Then the next time you're heading down to WDW, you need to swing through Alabama and pick me up! ;) I'll go and watch it with you!

DAY 4—Wednesday, May 30

Today will be our first MK day for this trip!

Photo0187.jpg

How can anyone not love Magic Kingdom? Just walking through the gates brings a smile! The music playing,

The balloons swaying in the air,

IMG_1438.jpg

The sweet smells of sugar....

IMG_1440.jpg

And the most beautiful sight at the end of the street!

IMG_1407.jpg

I love it! It is definitely our family’s favorite park. :grouphug:

The posted hours for the day are 9-10, and I have a definite goal in mind for this day…

IMG_2402.jpg

In ten trips, we have never once seen the opening show at Magic Kingdom. I would love to be able to make it during this trip. Hopefully we can all be up and ready to board the monorail by 8:15. That should be plenty of time to ride over to MK and still see the show.

Having being previously a fastpass hoarder, this park is going to require some thinking on my part about where we go first. Right now I’m thinking the plan will be to go to the new Fantasy Land and ride Dumbo first. Then it will be back through FL to grab a fastpass for Peter Pan.

IMG_1291.jpg

PP is typically our first ride of the morning when we’re in MK, but I think we will all want to ride the “new” Dumbo. We are definitely going to try to get through the Snow White ride, since it will close after this day. I’m sure while we’re near, we will ride IASW---a classic, even though it is a little cheesy! ;)

IMG_1292.jpg

If we have time, we will go toward Tomorrow Land, and try to ride Space Mtn. and Buzz Space Ranger. Depending on wait times, we may need to get fastpasses for one or both.

IMG_1388.jpg

IMG_0519.jpg

If fastpass return times aren’t going to work for us we will have to pass right then, because we will need to head toward the exit of MK around 10:20 that morning, and catch the monorail back to the Poly so that we can have a late breakfast at ‘Ohana.

IMG_0526.jpg

We love, love, love the breakfast here! :thumbsup2

When we return we will try to manage the time with the things on our wish list. Here are our MUST-DO’s while at MK.

1. The “New” Dumbo
2. Peter Pan’s Flight
3. IASW
4. Mickey’s Philharmagic---LOVE it! I try not to annoy the people around me too much by singing too loudly! :upsidedow
5. Space Mtn.
6. Buzz Space Ranger
7. Carousel of Progress---A classic we only discovered and fell in love with about six years ago.
8. People Mover---Is this called this again or is it the TTA? Whatever, it was always my mom’s favorite ride when we went as kids.
9. PoC
10. Splash Mtn.
11. BTMR---This is currently closed, scheduled to reopen May 27, but rumors are saying it won’t open then, because the rehab is going to be more extensive than they had planned. This is one of our favorites in the park, so I sure hope it opens on schedule.
12. Jungle Cruise
13. Haunted Mansion

Looks just like about everything there doesn’t it? We will be returning to MK later in the week, so we can catch anything we want to, but don’t have time for, later.

Dinner that night will be counter service, since we had a sit-down, table service breakfast earlier that day. We will probably eat at Pecos Bills or Cosmic Rays. Later that night we will be going to the Wishes Dessert Party, which I’m very excited about. :cool1:

IMG_1473.jpg

IMG_1484.jpg

This is a surprise for my family---They probably don’t even know there’s anything like this in the park. I have looked at lots of pictures and can’t wait to try all the desserts. I will take LOTS of pictures for all of you. ;)

That will mark the close of our first MK day. I’m sure we will take our time leaving the park, strolling through some shops on our way out to the monorail, which will take us back to our Poly home.

What a fun, fun day you have planned. Ohana & the dessert party all in one day?!? How yummy is that? Sounds like a wonderful plan!
