Maybe not worth it, but nabbed a night at BLT pre Disney Cruise

We are flying in a day early, arriving around 9PM the night before the cruise. We were going to stay at an outside hotel for the night and rent a car. However, we are now taking the Disney transportation to BLT for the night and taking Disney transportation to Port Canaveral for the cruise.

The look my wife gave me when she realized it was an option told me that, basically, there was no option --- I booked it.

We've stayed there twice (it's our DVC home) you'll love it. We'll be there in 11 short days just before our cruise aboard the Magic :thumbsup2

This is what we call a "Yes, Dear" moment.

Or, as my wife sweetly counsels me, "Just remember...you have to sleep sometime, bubba!"

Have a great trip!

Enjoy the night and then the cruise! I tried to convince DH to a 1 night stay at BLT before our RCCL 3 night cruise in September. He wanted to use fewer points, value at AKV or standard BWV. I'll see which is available tomorrow.

I think the point difference for us between AKL and BLT was either 4 or 6 points for the night. My gut said to save the points since we already borrowed from next year for the trip we are taking this summer, but when I saw my wife's face I knew what I had to do.

The funny thing is that I have slowly convinced myself that borrowing ALL of next year's points wouldn't be the worst thing since I can borrow 2013 in 2012, and 2014 in 2013, etc....and at SOME point we will have a year where we can't make it down twice and will, therefore, catch up. Well, that's what I keep telling myself!

From what I have read...I think I see an add-on in your future:rotfl:

We did the same thing last June before our RCCL cruise. We did arrive a little earlier in the day than you, but I'd still do it anyway. We did get to the enjoy the MK fireworks from the BLT roof, which to me made it a points worthy night. Hopefully you might make it in time to see them as well. BLT is a great location. Have fun!

I'm planning to do the same thing next year before I go on the Fantasy. Hope to spend some time before in the MK that day.

Yes, for 1 night the costs aren't much different, but I asked, he answered, and I don't want to just ignore his wishes. At this point, whatever it costs, the points are being borrowed from us too!

:) DH and I decided to fly in a day early for our May trip (cheaper ticket)....but I didn't have the points....so a rented some from a good friend. DH said " I thought we were staying at Pop our first night?" Nope going to stay at Kidani that first night.

Just think how much easier it will be staying on property to get that "Disney Magic" started a night earlier. Haivng a night cap at TOTWL would be an awesome way to get ready for a cruise. :cloud9:

We're staying in a BLT Grand Villa this April the night before our Dream cruise. CAN NOT WAIT!!

You're going to be glad you may that decision! :thumbsup2

We stayed in a THV the night before our cruise in Dec. It was alot of points, but who knows when we would stay there again. Also, it was a Disney vacation for us, so staying off site was not an option!

We did this too, in November! It was great...the rest of our family do not have APs and between the things at the resort and DTD it was a wonderful way to get ready for the DCL cruise, without them having to worry about park admissions. :thumbsup2

We're doing something very similar in March. We're flying in the day before a cruise on RCL and will arrive at WDW around 5pm. We're staying one night at BLT pre-cruise and one night at WLV post-cruise. I know we won't get much (if any) park time, but just being on property makes me happy. :goodvibes
