Maybe, Kinda Sorta, I Don't Know If I AM Going to Run in February

Race day plans took great! I do think Steve bringing the bag just in case is a great idea and Kouzzina will be so yummy, one of my favorite breakfast spots of all time.

Your Epcot day sounds fun and I'm with you on the EMH thing as it's been inconsistent when I've been there. It seems like a few things stay open, but not all, and how would one know what does and doesn't?

Thanks! I truly hope that I won't need that bag and can actually go back and shower... but if not then I will make due. (I suspect I won't be the only one)

:confused3 Ahhh...zeppoles without me!

Soon enough we can have them together. :goodvibes

Well, I am now in my two week taper. I hit over 11 miles on sat to end that final week before the taper.

I thought I had a good plan for my taper.

today 1 mile
tuesday 8 miles
thursday 5 miles
Friday 1 mile
Saturday 4 miles
Sunday 4 miles
Monday 1 mile
Tuesday 3 miles
friday 2 miles
Sunday PHM

Only today, I went out too fast and strong thinking "its only a mile". It was surprisingly cold out and I ran the first 1/3 mile or so under an 8 min/mile pace. :sad2: What was I thinking??? Then instead of going just one I went nearly 2. I finished with the fastest pace I have ever done. (8:43) However I got home and started wheezing and having a hard time breathing. My lungs burn even now. I have asthmatic tendencies (as well as an issue with heart arrhythmia) but since running, haven't had too much trouble with either.

So I may cut out those one milers since I apparently cant behave.

In other running "news" I found a pink actual sparkle skirt that while it doesn't have a nice thick band on it like the one I made... it has a nice lining and is comfy enough. Super short though... but I guess that is okay since it still covers my running shorts. I also broke down and bought a new pair of shoes. Brooks running online had some on sale... I went to our local store to try them out first (I know...bad of me... I need to support local business...but they were half the cost online) My "new" ones I got just after my birthday... the lavender and black nike frees... I have worn a good deal of the nubblies off the bottom. I guess when they are rated at about 150 miles and I ran about 93 in Jan and then have ran about another 35 this month... it brings me close to that 150 mark. I shouldn't run in the brooks for the race, but I am worried the nikes will not be good for the race. :confused3 #1 rule though is nothing new on race day. Maybe I will have enough time during the taper to "break them in"

This is a sad day... the day we fly home. I am sure to be stressed out about this. (I already am) I will be coming home to more work than I think I can get done. Sure... I can do it early my boss said... just don't close it out until it is due. However as I am learning getting my "normal" stuff done along with doing "extra" is not easy :scared: Lets just see... 40 hours this week... plus the 30 or so next week all to get done by tuesday. Ok, so maybe it is doable. However monday and tuesday will be VERY VERY long days. But... I can definitely get a good portion of it banged out this weekend. Ok, I feel better now.

So back to what I was saying... departure day. :sad2:

We have a pretty late flight. 4pm. This will mean that we will have a DME schedule time of 1pm. What this means is one of two things (and I won't know what until we are in FL) Option one involves us spending all of $35 more to upgrade all of us to a 5 day ticket and go into a park for breakfast. Seems like a spendy way to have breakfast though  I guess it depends on if we missed something and need to go back. Another option is after we check out of CSR - we go to DTD and grab breakfast at WGPE. Yet another option is to not rush to check out and not rush to go eat breakfast, but rather soak in our last moments of CSR. With that option we will of course still have time after we check out. At that point we will probably head to DTD for lunch before we have to head to MCO.

Our travel home is still lengthy and we will not arrive at our home airport until about midnight. Now... we have a bit of an issue with this. With Kira and Josh going to Anaheim shortly before we return we will not have them to pick us up at the airport. What about Zach, you ask? Well, Zach received a promotion in rank so is being sent for some advanced training (also in CA) He leaves 2 days after we do and wont be home until the end of March. So who does this leave? :scratchin Well, it leaves Kimberly. She is such a sweetheart and I love that we work at the same place. She tolerates all of Zach's crap and keeps him centered. I can't wait until she is officially my dil. (yes, Zach is just waiting for the right time to propose. A couple things have to happen for him first...one of which is talk to her dad :scared: ) So while I am glad she has agreed to pick us up. I feel bad... I don't want to ask too much of her. After all it is her busy week too...and Wednesday (the day after we get back) Is our busiest day of the week. She also has school. So keeping her out until well after midnight is probably asking a tad much.... I need to confirm with Zach though.. I just now thought of another idea  I could in theory have Josh drive my car to the airport and park it... that way we would only have to pay for a day or two of parking. :scratchin this might be a better option. I could also pay for a full week of parking... but I am cheap and hate to do that if I don't have to. :rotfl2:

So this will conclude our trip. Seems crazy short to me... and I wonder how I will fit in all that I want to. Good thing I won't have to wait too long until I return.....

So excited that your trip is coming so soon! All the extra work at home will be more than made up for with the race and the MOUSE!

You are right! I started to complain to a friend about my "problems" regarding the upcoming week. She kinda helped to get me out of my potty party by pointing out that she had a hard time crying me a river since I am going to Florida!

Yes- these are good "problems" to have

I knew that oldest son of yours had some sense in his head...:woohoo: and so glad you will be getting Kimberly as a dil! I sure hope she does not read PTR!

I doubt she even knows about dis... but I think that she knows that the direction they are headed. :goodvibes

Although I think he threw her for a loop today with her present... for valentines day.... he haphazardly wrapped one of his old xbox controllers along with one of his old favorite games. He gave this too her (but had her real present hidden in the room) Poor thing was all "oh.. thank you." He played it up saying now they could play video games together and since that was his favorite game at one time maybe it would become hers as well. :rotfl2: I guess this went on a while and she continued to "oooh, how nice" about the gift. Then he asked if she wanted her real gift. He got her a kitchenaid stand mixer. :rotfl: Not sure how much better that is than the game controller... but she does like to bake and every kitchen does need one....

The ticker says 6 more days!

Hope your family can find a really good primary care doctor to replace the one who is leaving.

Ann, I am NOT all caught up here and will have to catch up with your PTR when I get back, but since we leave tomorrow I just wanted to wish you

Safe travels and I cannot wait to meet you on the 21st!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much! I honestly haven't been able to bring myself to even look into getting a new doc. I need to... especially since Zoe is sick again. I guess the benefit of starting on a course of antibiotics and then being told within a day or so that it needs to be changed, is I have a medicine cabinet full of near full prescriptions... so I started her on a broad spectrum antibiotic, since she appears to be developing a kidney infection.

Oh no! Lol!!!

Glad your happy about your future dil!

I wish ladies trip was so close!

this trip will be good. The ladies trip will be fun in a whole different kind of way!

Please be careful using old antibiotics. I remember taking a class and we learned how there are some antibiotics that break down over time and are toxic to the kidneys. I remember tetracycline being one of those, but can't remember the rest for the life of me.

Yup... I am aware. She goes through so many there is almost always a script that hasn't expired. The one I started her on, she got recently... But I still looked at the discard date.

One dose and it seems to be helping so I just am gonna keep her on it. Normally I would double check with doc..... But they are so busy. Some of their systems got shut down early... So I couldn't even get through a couple days ago ( phone and webpractice were accidentally shut off a month early)

Your plans are shaping up nicely! And the trip is almost here!! :cool1: I think you're going to do great at the race!
