Maybe it's too early but who is looking forward to 2006 Fall discounts?

We've booked thru AAA for September, 2006. It made me a little nervous since I'm a "hands on" person. I decided to lock in at the AAA discount pkg. though. If a code comes out that I'm able to use (before the final payment due date), I will be on the phone with Disney at 7:00 a.m. to book a new package. Then I could just call and cancel the AAA package if I need to. (Of course, if AAA is able to apply the code, then I'd cancel the newer package to hold on to the extra AAA perks!) Confusing enough . . .huh?! :)

Hi,

What was the free dining plan?? I have seen it mentioned several times on the board in the past and was curious what it was about.

Denise

If a package was booked, the Disney Dining Plan was FREE! The dining plan includes one sit-down meal, one counter service meal, and one snack per person per night. It was wonderful! All the taxes and gratuity were included.

WOW! How awesome! I had AP's and guess I missed that when it came out. I decided not to renew the AP's, so I have entered into the sometimes confusing world of packages and such. Would love a deal like that!

Thanks for the info.

I am on the fence, I like going in the fall but my ds is going to start 3rd grade next year and hate to pull him out of school but I love a good deal and hate crowds. whats a girl to do!

We are going to go during conferences next fall. They are always on Thurs and Fri during the 1st week of November. That way my DD's only miss a couple of days of school instead of 5 (we leave after school on Tuesday, the girls miss on Weds and Monday and we are gone for 6 days!) :earsboy:

I am! :wave2:

I have (room-only) reservations made for October 21-27 at the Poly with the AAA discount. I'll be keeping a watch for any better discounts.

Debbie

Uh oh, you mean Im not the first person on earth to have thought of going then? Dang!
lol

We took our then 5th grade DD out for a week to go in Dec 02, and I dont regret it at all. Its no problem for them to make up the homework, and the plus of being there during a slow time was well worth it. Fighting the crowds and heat is not my/out idea of a good time.

Going first week in Nov 06, (conference week), and hope it isnt too bad. Just before Jersey week and looks like alot of districts have the same conference schedule first Thrs/Fri in Nov, so I hope we arent miscalculating...

Anyone been down then and have any thoughts on crowds?

DH & I just decided tonight do go back Nov 1-8. It will be my 30th birthday. Our first time at AKL, and we are going to go concierge. My DS is an animal nut, so I know he is going to love it. :cool1:

I am hoping for a great AP/BPR. :goodvibes

We picked out dates just to avoid this problem. We are going Nov 1 through Nov 6. My DD's are out on the 2nd and 3rd for conferences so they will only miss on the 1st and 6th and will be back to school on Tuesday. My girls are both excellent students and as long as I let the teachers know what is going on in advance they are ok with it. (A lot of times teachers will assign special projects like a scrapbook, etc. for the kids that go on a vacation during school days.) :earsboy:

We don't have a time in the fall the kids are out of school. My son grades are great, too. I will pull him out I did this year, and he hasn't missed a day since so it's not like he misses alot of school.

We're really lucky that we can calculate year to year when the conferences are. (8 weeks after school starts) That way we can plan from year to year as long as we know the start date. :earsboy:

I agree, if your kids are good in school and able to catch up quickly it is much easier to take them out for a vacation during the school year than to fight the crowds and heat in the summer.

Okay, so I am guilty as charged :goodvibes Already thinking about going and I promised DH in Sept that I wouldn't come back again next year :teeth: . We said the same thing this year because we went last year. But when free dining came out, DH changed his mind. I am going to work hard the 1st quarter of the year saving so when I mention I will already have my money work out...send those good vibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

OH yeah, forgot to mention that DD school every year has a fall break for a week, so no need to take them out of school. I love that fall break!!!

are you kidding...i am planning our trip for next december already....

Good luck to you Rae66. Hope you make it there next year!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Here's a little :wizard:
