Maybe it's too early but who is looking forward to 2006 Fall discounts?

We will be going back to WDW September 30 thru October 9, 2006. We went this past October on the free dining plan which turned out to be sooooo awesome that we hope (fingers crossed) that they offer it again or something just as good. Our trip this Oct for 9 nights, 10 days at POR with resort, tickets/hoppers, & food was $2400 with tax...That was the cheapest trip we have ever taken & it sure felt like we were kings & queens.

Anyone else hoping for a late September, ealry October discount? Anyone heard any rumors? Anyone want to venture a guess as to what Disney may offer?

I am planning on almost those exact same dates and I've been looking forward to discounts for well over a year! It's never too early to start thinking about that!

I wouldn't dare to venture a guess but I've heard predictions that next year's hurricane season will not be as bad as this one so I don't know how that may affect things.

Good luck to us!! I know I'll be anxiously awaiting news!!

We went in June, missed the free dining. We are planning to go in October as well...OT..is it still REALLY hot in early October or alot better by then?
Anyway, we are keeping our fingers crossed for a great deal, too!

I am looking forward to discounts too! I am booked with a AAA for 10/21-10/28! I was wondering since ADR's and park hours are coming out 180 in advance if discounts would come out sooner too. Wishful thinking, I suppose.

We have finally set our dates in stone for September. The thing I am wondering is this.....I don't know if I should book the package through AAA or go through Disney. The price I got from AAA is $275.00 less than what Disney quoted me. I am just afraid that if a free dining deal or something along those lines comes up I wont be able to change our package because I went through AAA. On the other hand, if I book through Disney, I should have no problem calling myself and changing the package. What would you do??? Book through AAA and know that you already saved $275? Or go through Disney and hope that a better deal comes along? :confused3

(Maybe I should also mention that between now and September I will have to pay $60.00 to renew my AAA membership, and also pay $15.00 for them to FedEx me my travel documents when they come in.)

The past 2 years we have gone at the end of Aug. early Sept and it seems that June has been the month that they came out with the great discounts and then I think the Fall specials followed. Last year the dining plan deal was for around 8/21-10/4 I think. Anyway, we like to wait to see what they come out with and then we book. The same has been true for our airfares-early July has been the time that we have found the best fares.

We are going Nov 1-6 next year. I decided to book with AAA to lock in something at least, and got the 15% discount on the room portion== booked POFQ, 10 day non expiring (to use up sometime later), with dining. Probably will add the hopper at some point too. My TA said that if a code comes out it can be changed later, since its a package wouldnt have to be re-booked. I hope thats right, cause I'm really hoping for some kind of deal!!

We're shooting for late August like the last two trips we made. Both times, I believe the deals came out in June but I'm impatient and would love to be able to make my plans now. It's really hot in August but my son is in college, plays baseball and that's the only time we can work it in. We also benefited from the free dining which was great however I doubt they offer that again. It served its purpose though, we were not planning on going until that deal came out and we enjoyed it so much that I will pay for it this year. (Anytime you can feed a 19 year old boy free ..... whooo hoooo!!!) A couple of years ago we took advantage of the FairyTale?? package, the 7 nights for the price of 4 deal. Any speculation what might be offered this year?

I also booked thru AAA 9 nights 8/25 -/93 at WL (our 1st deluxe!!) and saved about $300 over CRO. My TA assured me that, not only can she apply any discount that comes out later, but that she watches every day and calls every client for whom she finds something. It's my first time using AAA and of course I will be watching, too. But she sounds knowledgeable!!

I wasnt thrilled with my AAA TA when I booked. They assure me they watch for deals all the time, but I'm nervous...

We booked for October 9-16. Hoping for a special deal. If not..well it's still Disney! :goodvibes

If this means anything to anyone value season ends 10/4. I'm ending my package on that date so I'm hoping like all of you that some kind of special will come out. I'm also booked with AAA but the TA I'm trying to switch to is a DIS member/AAA agent so I'll see what comes up.

I'm hoping to go this september.... I'm just worried about booking my trip and then after if there is a better deal..or if disney offers the free dining again. Does anyone who got the free dinning last time.... know if you book before it is offered, but is going there during that time - if you still get the free dining.....?

yes, we had already booked our trip thru CRO in February. When the free dining came out I called again & had the package adjusted.

I wonder if it is that easy when you booked the package through AAA?

Yes and no. No for me but yes for hubby's family. He wants them to join us which means I will have to be on the lookout for any room or package codes to be had to save them some money.

We are planning a fall trip (see sig) and are new to the disney phenomenon. I didn't know about discounts...wow! Subscribing to this thread! :flower:

We went last year and had free dining but if you didn't book it with the free dining you did not automatically get it ( I think that's what was asked). As with all packages, there were only so many available and you had to book within a certain time frame. Just my quess but I don't think they will offer that again.. I think it will be something different but I could be wrong. Downside to the free dining though, since everyone is looking for it.. the restaurants would be packed and hard to get into again. Last year lots of people did not know about it and they were really crowded, the free dining would just make it worse. Upside... I wouldn't be picky where I ate if it is free.. I would just be happy to be there. :daisy:

Hi,

What was the free dining plan?? I have seen it mentioned several times on the board in the past and was curious what it was about.
