Maybe I'll do a trip report? Don't read! I haven't decided! NEW for 1/31! Read it!

Celery, I think I saw Spectro (wasn't that about the same as Main Street Electrical Parade?). Admittedly, a long time ago!

And your little Riley is just adorable!

Marita - I have no clue about the history of spectro. I get confused so easily! I read so much about WDW that I don't know what I've really seen and what I just think I've seen.

Update!!!! It's the 30 day point! I called for an upgrade.
We have a two bedroom!

for two nights.

:confused3

The bad thing about timeshare stuff is they expect people to go for a week. We're going to be there for 11 nights. Which means 3 seperate reservations. Argh.
So I have to call back on Wednesday for the next reservation.
Keep your fingers crossed for me.

And now, back to the story!
When our daring heroine last left you, she was headed towards her gate at the Kansas City airport . . .

Now - how many of you have been to the airport in Kansas City?
It’s crazy!
There’s all these glass partitions.
And as soon as you step out of the gate, you’re past security.
They do have bathrooms in the section where you wait, but not many.
So I go to the security checkpoint closest to my gate.

But they’re not open.

Argh!

When they FINALLY let me in, I grab a seat (I’m the only person in the entire section – so many to choose from!) and check out the free wireless. I LOVE it when airports have free wireless.

So of course I went to the DIS.

Here’s a peek at what I posted:
Guess what?

I'm getting ready to go see all of these guys:
::MinnieMo pluto: :tinker: :ccat: :donald: :dumbo: :sulley: :tigger: :tink: :goofy: :figment: :eeyore: :mickeybar :stitch: :simba: pooh: :maleficen ::MickeyMo

Well. Not really. I've never seen the chesire cat.
And I'm not sure if I'll catch Maleficent (My most favortiest villain).
I can't remember if they have the villains in the parade now.
I also will not see Figment this time.
I'm planning on skipping the Imagination pavillion since we're only there 4ish days.
But Tammy says Honey I shrunk the audience is her favorite 3-D movie? How weird is that? It's my least favorite. :confused3

I'm so excited!

and this:
I want to wake Tammy up so bad! I'm so excited! I booked my flight to leave at 7 am because I figured she'd want to make the 6:30 AM flight from Nashville.
Wrong. She's not leaving until 9:55 and won't arrive until 12:40. :( I arrive at 10:40, so I have two hours here and two hours there in the airport. At least Kansas City has free wifi.
Does Orlando?
I can talk to my meepy moops!

It's so cute - there's a little girl here waiting as well with her family. I want to ask them so bad if they're going to Disney World, but if they're not, I don't want to put it in her head that she SHOULD be going.
But we all know she should be. :snooty:

I hope I don't bug you guys talking about my trip so much.

Heh.
Now I hope I’m not bugging all YOU guys. ;)

Do the thirty day dance with me!!!

I had to put my dancing peeps in the next post cuz I exceeded my limit.

Lil g taught me well! ;)

:dance3: :yay:  :cheer2: :dance3:

And my favorite ones

:rockband: :rockband: :rockband:

Aren't they cute?

First, let me start by saying that I LOVE  trip reports. They provide that nice fix when the shakes for the World start. They give you insight into your fellow posters. They let you pretend that it’s perfectly fine to think about Disney every single day. They make you feel NORMAL (especially with the weirdos that post trip reports around here).
So I’ve thought about posting a trip report before. But I have this aversion to failure. Like a lot. Like I don’t do things unless I know I’m going to be absolutely incredible. And while I find myself amusing, I’ve been told not everyone thinks I’m quite so funny. The nerve!
And honestly, why write a trip report if it’s not funny?
The best trip reports

(should I name my favorites? Hmm. Ok! My favorite writers [in no particular order] are:
Kay7979, Twinkiemama, 1000thHappyHaunt, UtahMama, Nebo, Punkin413, AGPrincess, Mr._The_King, kpk89, Mr. and Mrs. Silly (HaleyB))

are funny. They have conflict. All but three in that list have people under 18 in them. None of them have gay people in them (except one of Kay’s Vikings seemed a little fruity to me).

So without conflict, with no kids, with two lesbians, what fun is a trip report going to be? I guess I could make up half of it (like Mel does – I mean really, she has three reports going now. She’s just TELLING us what she did on a particular day. She really has no clue.).
I guess I could practice my creative writing Walter Middy style like Kay does. Or I could ramble on and on about philosophers, time travel and Hitchiker’s guide to the galaxy like Mr. Silly does.

Or! Here’s a novel idea! Plan a trip that’s guaranteed to have lots of conflict just so you can write a super cool trip report! It might help to meet some other great trip report writers so at least you can steal some of their thunder. You definitely need kids. And straight people. And maybe some alcoholics too? How about a road trip? It will increase the suspense.
Why not be broke at the same time? Anything else? Hmm. Ok. 20 ADRs. And plans to make all of them.

I can do it!

ok now am reading !!!! you are silly!!!:lmao:

:cool1:
:yay: :yay:

:jumping1:
:mickeyjum :donald:

Doing the 30 day dance with you, Cel and Tammy!!!

33 for me!

And I DO remember those posts from your previous trip!!! It was cool that you could use the wifi from the airport.

Tammy: if you're reading this, celery said you would cart me around if I come to the Moops meet in September. Just wanted to thank you in advance.:rotfl:

Eventually, I made it to Orlando.

And had nothing to do.

So I called my mom (you know I must have been REALLY bored to do that!).

Then I had a drink.

Then I bought some stuff at the EarPort (how cute is that? It’s like “Central Perk”).

Then I took what I bought back (the anklet was too big as a bracelet, too small as an anklet).

Then I cruised the croc store (oh! I can devote an entire episode to my crocs! Yes!).

Then I bought a bottled water.

Then I couldn’t get the bottled water open.

Then I bought some coffee.

Then FINALLY Tammy arrived!

Whee! I love the glass partitions at Orlando so you can see who's coming and get all excited!

And it’s really weird that I can remember everything that I did in the airport when I was bored, but I have NO IDEA WHAT WE DID AT DISNEY!

First, I’ll explain the ground rules of this trip:

1. I *have* to walk slow and not leave Tammy trailing behind.

2. There is no need to make it to the opening of any park. We will be back in a few short months.

3. No thrill rides. Except Everest and Tower of Terror. Cuz they’re my favorite. And Test Track cuz Tammy doesn’t think it’s a thrill ride.

4. R E L A X.

Hmm.
Let’s see.
I *think* on our first day that we went to MK. Cuz there’s no reason for us to spend a whole day there on such a short trip.
Yeah.

We didn’t ride Splash.

We didn’t ride Space.

I don’t think we even rode Big Thunder.

We probably rode Pirates and Buzz Lightyear.

And we probably saw Mickey’s Philharmagic.

Tammy says we rode Carousel of Progress because she’d never seen it before.

But the point of this trip was just to soak up Disney and not be park commandos.

Oh! I know we went to MK on this day – cuz it was a Spectromagic day. And Tammy had never seen it.

Honestly, I’m not sure if I had or not.

Cuz I read and watch so much about Disney, that everything seems familiar to me.

I even knew what my favorite part of the parade was – the butterflies with light up wings.

Oh well. I’m delusional. I don’t care. Much.

Oh yeah! We went to Crystal Palace too. I hadn’t been there since I was a baby. Pooh and friends are not my favorite, but it was still a lot of fun.

Here's some pics! Cuz pics of grown adults with characters are just too good to pass up, right? ;)

This time we'll have a kid so people won't look at us weird!!
I don't really think anyone did look at us weird.
And even if they did, I don't care. Much.

But I'm really scared of what Utah is gonna say when she sees me with my crocs.
And socks!
:scared:
(I seem to use that smiley a lot when it comes to Utah. I think she intimidates me.)
but anyway, I think socks with crocs is hideous.
But neccessary at Disney.
Cuz I get blisters otherwise.
She'll get over it.

Guess what?

I called this morning for the upgrade.

They didn't have any.

:(

So I called back after awhile.

And I got it!
Wooo!
So for at least 9 of our days we'll have a two bedroom.

Hmmm.
So let's call mom and bug her again.

"No, your dad says I can't go because we don't have the money."
"Well, what if I bought your ticket?"
"I don't know. Ask him."

So I call Tammy and talk it over with her - the ticket will be her Christmas present.

So I call mom back.
"Let me talk to dad."

The two of them yell back and forth.

He comes on the line.

"What the #$#%%@ do you want?"
"Can she go if I buy the ticket?"
"Why in the #$%@ are you asking me? Neither one of you has ever done a @#$%%^! thing I asked. What diference does it make what I say?"
"I just wanted to make sure you'd let her go."
"I have no control over either of you."
"Would you like to go too? I'll buy your ticket."
"#$%^@*!, no I don't want to go. Is that all you wanted?"
"Yeah."
"Bye."

:rotfl:

Poor dad.
So I guess mom is going with us. :dance3:

Attention all meepymoops: We have a babysitter! :woohoo:
And maybe this time she'll get to go to Chef Mickey's and Tea. :yay:
And Marita gets to push the wheelchair.
Just kidding.
I'll let Moo do it.
Or! Utah's big strapping oldest son Jordan! We'll call it community service.

Hey, Celery, is your dad just a tad grumpy, LOL?

I am not pushing any wheelchairs, I am likely to need one myself, LOL. Lots of walking is not anything this couch potato is used to. And please walk slow for me too!

Cute pics!!!!!!

Awwww... what a sweetie! :teeth:

Another vote here for socks with Crocs at Disney!

Glad you got your upgrade! hope they won't make you move though. Is it all in the same unit?

So I guess mom is going with us. :dance3:

:lmao: I may be needing a wheelchair or scooter myself! Dang knee.

However, I found when I went with an older friend in May 2006 that I didn't mind pushing her in a wheelchair too much when there were no ECVs available to rent. It's kind of like how walking around in a store is more comfortable with a cart/buggy/whatever they call them in your neck of the woods.

Except that pushing someone uphill in a wheelchair is no fun. Whatsoever. And going downhill can be a tad scary :scared:

It'll be nice to meet your mom. I have some questions for her :rotfl2:

I hope to be in non-commando mode during the September trip, except when I am trying to get to an ADR, fastpasses, etc. Since I'll be there for more than a week! :woohoo:

Cel... can I call you Cel  ... I finally read your pre trippie from page 1 to end... to funny:lmao: and upto this day my dmom really thinks that we did scare you away last Sept...

Awesome budget for Bonnet Creek... again I will repeat what one other poster had mentioned... thats $220/month for 10 years and thats it??? You own it for the rest of your life??? Way better than DVC if it is... hmmm another question... how many weeks do you get a year???

Okie dokie Peeps sorry to interrupt... carry on...

:happytv:

PS: what dates are you going to be back at the World again??? We'll be there (me and my tribe) again on Sept. 29 to Oct. 5th... You can leave your water again at our door :cloud9:

marita - Nah. He's a sweetie! ;) I won't mind pushing you around. From your pics, you look like you weigh maybe 60, 65 pounds. :) And if I don't walk slow, you can hang back with my mom and tammy. Cuz they'll be in mosey mode.

marion - I know! He's the best! Heh. He's really gotten grumpy in middle age. I don't know why. When I was a teenager, it was my mom who was grumpy. Now it's him.
I think the big 6-0 did him in.

moo - what in the world do you want to ask my mother? You've got me worried now!
I'll push you too.
We'll get one of those cart pushy things from Wal-Mart and have a chain of wheelchairs! Fun!
Or, instead of a double stroller, a double wheelchair!
Watch out, world!

ants - we never officially met last year, did we? So how could you have scared us off?!?!?!
We'll be there from the 19th thru to the 1st.
Let me know if you're at Pop again and I'll bring extra water over!
and maybe left over food too.
and I know the wyndham deal is great -
after the ten years are up, we'll have maintenance fees every month. Right now they're 35 bucks a month and haven't risen much in the years the company has been doing it.
And unlike DVC, it's not just for 50 years - it's forever.
you can will it to your heirs.

Pssst. I am pretty sure that Utah wears socks in Crocs while at Disney World.

finally!!! I am home... the net was so slow at work took me forever to read everything!!!

anyways... the reason being was... when we checked in our room your window was all decked out with lights and mickey heads of purple black and ornages... Hmm thats what I remember... I think...:rolleyes1 and dmom said look... maybe they are also a member of your cult (but dont worry she is a a follower herself... she just dont let it show and does take paint chip but one a time though!!!) and suggested I sign your door... I think I did or left your door a lime green mickey head or something... then we rested... took a quick shower and left... when we got back at POP your window was clear and looks like you were gone... Dmom said.. hmmm maybe the are from another sect :lmao: so upto this day she talks about that incident... that we scared someone off and left the bldg :rotfl:

ANTS - How funny is that! another sect? :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: Nah. It was just our checkout day. :(
But now I see how it looked!

It's always goog to have a friend's family member to chat with . . . you never know what you'll find out (bwahahahahaaaaa!).

I have a whole month to come up with questions!!!

Moo - alright! ask her what you want. But know that she lies!!!!

i've rented the ECV for my mom. Even though she thinks she doesn't need it.
I think it will make things go more smoothly.

As long as she goes to Wal-Mart first to practice.

Instead of an update, I’m giving you a link today.
Go!
Read!
