Maybe booking last minute Eastern 7 day

We (me, DH, 17 year old daughter, 14 year old son) haven't been on DCL in about 4 years. I haven't been following any DCl updates or news during Covid. We, on a whim, are thinking of booking a 7 day Eastern Caribbean on 12/26. We just happen to have the time off and have always wanted to go Eastern on DCL. I'm trying to familiarize myself with the changes since they've started sailing again. Are many sailings getting cancelled last minute or is the schedule pretty reliable at this point?

Any thoughts about the 12/26 sailing? What will NYE be like on the ship? Will CC still be decorated for the holidays?

The New Year's cruise will have the same decorations as the Merrytime cruises. Christmas trees, garlands, gingerbread house in the atrium, etc. The characters dress up in fancy clothes on New Year's Eve, and traditionally there is a New Year's party with fireworks at midnight, that are separate from the Pirate Night party & fireworks. I don't know if they'll continue that tradition post-Covid or not. A cruise is a very nice way to spend New Year's.

Sailings are no longer being cancelled- they're happening reliably.

I think that’ll be a great cruise. We’ve been on one NYE cruise and will certainly be going on another one some year.

We're on this cruise, booked last week. Have been on 2 cruises since the restart, honestly the Covid protocols haven't impacted our enjoyment of the experience at all. Did a NYE cruise 6 years ago - there were fireworks and a deck part with champagne. Not sure what will happen this year but we'll still have a blast!
