We thinking of June 2012 or Aug 2012 but afraid of the heat (MIL has breathing issues). Do not want to take son out of school and were thinking since Easter early this year maybe going for sons Spring Vacation would be an idea. Anyone gone Apr 13-21. What can we expect in terms of crowds and weather? TIA

April is a much better time to go considering the weather. It is milder, even though the day is starting to get warmer.

As for crowds, I am not sure when Easter is next year. That would impact the crowds. If it is after Easter then you may be better than if it is before. But if it is within a week you are still going to see heavier crowds due to spring break.

Now June will be getting HOT, but Aug...HOT HOT HOT, so since your MIL has breathing issues Aug is not the time to go. Or if you do I would expect her to spend 95% of her day inside somewhere.

Hi SFRN97! We went August 15-22 in 2008, i have asthma, so sometimes the heat can really get to me. It was really hot! most days were 92-94 degree's :scared1: it took me about 2 days to adjust, we went slow on the really hot days ( like there's a difference between 92 and 94 degree's :rotfl2:) Luckily my kids were little ( 5 and 7 ) so they also tired out kind of quickly anyways. Due to your MIL's age and health issue's i would suggest against August.

April 8 is Easter so expect crowds and higher flight prices but cooler temps. June and Aug very very hot & humid so if you are taking someone with breathing issues be careful. Temps are mostly in the 90's.

We had gorgeous weather April 7 - April 16 this year. It rained 1 day for less than 10 minutes while we were inside eating. Temps were high 80's, low 90's and absolutely perfect. There were a couple of days where I was dragging and I think it was due to increased humidity. I think I would have been miserable in Summer.

We took lots of breaks and tried to make sure we relaxed since this was our only vacation this year but we got a lot accomplished.

The best advice I can give you is to train for walking that much and have great shoes.
