MAY the SUPER GOOFS have a fantastic month!

Thanks Maura. I'm done whining. Did a quick 3.5 in 85 degree weather tonight, it actually wasn't too bad except having to stop at a port -a-john. Running in the evening after dinner is cooler but you never know what your stomach will do to you. :confused3

The 4-6 mile runs go ok, it's the long ones that are discouraging me. Think I'll drop back to a 10 this weekend again and see if that feels better. And I'll definitely take your advice and not worry about the fall just yet and just train.

Thank you so much!:flower3:

Hey Super Goofs!! Just a quick drive by to say Hello!! and to say that I am officially registered for the Disneyland Half!! All of my WISH buddies convinced me to go and I couldn't pass up the C2C and special 5th Anniv. medal....so I bit the bullet and registered last night when I saw it was at 95%! Hope to see some other Goofs there!

Ok....sorry for the post and run...we are heading to Charlotte for the Nascar race this weekend, and I haven't done any packing yet, and I need to get in a run tonight!! Promise to check in when I get back....hope everyone is doing well!!

Just wanted to drop a quick update. I fell off the wagon during vacation and didn't run for 9 days. I started well and ran the first few days on vacation, but quickly lost motivation. Well I'm back to running daily and cursing myself for having to rebuild some of my training. I also noticed that running during the heat is killing me. I typically wait until after dinner to run, but changed it to lunch time now due to my schedule and noticed a real difference in how it drains me.

Hi Goofs! Hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! We are...the weather has been beautiful! It has been a while since I have checked in. We got completely moved out of our house last Sunday, which was a huge relief. We are staying at my in-laws until we can move into our new house next weekend, but they don't have internet!!! I have been dying! So today we are visiting my mom, so the first thing I did was sign on to say hey! While I have been going into withdrawl from no internet, I have been getting out on some nice runs. They live out in the country and the roads are so peaceful and the change of scenery has been nice. The roads are also a little hilly, which I am not used to, so it has given my runs some new excitement!

Here are my May numbers...I am not sure when I will be able to check in again!

Running: 34 miles
Packing/moving: 6 hours=24 miles (am I right in recalling that 15 minutes=1 mile? If not, please adjust this!)

Hope everyone's June gets off to a good start! We are heading to WDW on the 17th, so we are getting close to that! It is DS's first trip, so I am soooo excited about it!

My May miles = 100.2

Had a 5K today, the Black Fly Blitz, fairly easy course, decent weather, lots of smoke from the fires in Canada, free bbq at the end if you had a bib, ran out of t-shirts, but that's ok. Good goodie bags, lots of samples, plus a big bowl of gu at the start you could pick from. (Got to try the jet blackberry, and am very glad I did not order it, did not like this one!) I did ok, not great, I'm fighting an upper-respiratory infection...this is my year of sickness, I guess, this is my 3rd this year. I think 3 is more than enough, hopefully once this passes I will be done!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Hi Goofs!

I'll add up my miles later, but I just wanted to suggest a June thread title:

June-o we're Goofy here, right?

HI Goofs,

Just wanted to check in. I haven't really logged my miles, is there an app for that? LOL. Sort of kidding but it would actually get me to it then. I only have an itouch not an iphone.

Anyway - this weekend I ran my second 5K of the summer. This one was officially timed - I was shooting for under 40 mins and did 39:15! Now I need to shave a bit of time off that for next month's race! And I need to increase my distance. Gotta get comfortable with an 8K for the Wine & Dine relay!
