Hi all,

Going to Disney but not sure if May or June would be better. Taking the kids, ages 7 and 5.

Is May PLENTY warm enough for swimming? Are there Love Bugs? Crowds?

Is June ALOT hotter than May? How is the rain?

We are thinking of early May, late May (Memorial Day weekend), or early June.

Please help! :confused3

Thanks,

Pat

We've never been in June but have gone several times in May... most often around Memorial Day weekend with the senior class trip. It has always been more than warm enough to swim... it's generally been in the 80's for our trips. We have experienced the usual late afternoon Florida thunderstorm/ rain shower... but nothing out of the ordinary. The crowds have always been manageable... I've seen much worse during the summer months. But as long as you have a good plan for the day/ park you can generally get in everything you want. We have never had a June bug problem... I don't even remember seeing them while we were there! Our May trips often start the Friday before Memorial Day and end the following Wednesday if that time frame puts things in perspective. Several years ago DH and I were there a bit earlier in May for our honeymoon. (We arrived May 13th and stayed for 2 weeks) The weather was beautiful! Not too hot and humid... sunny... but again the afternoon storms a few days. Our first week the crowds were non-existent... a bit more the following week. But the weekdays were great park days because the crowds were very light. I don't know if this still applies since our honeymoon was 7 years ago though! ;) Hope this helps!

Early May is quiet and hot so it's fine for swimming.

Memorial Day weekend is crowded and hot. I think the crowds thin out the week after though.

June is crowded, humid and hot but the earlier in June you go the less crowded it will be. We love going in early June.

Rains every afternoon for about an hour in June for sure. If it rained longer than that alot of people would leave which we loved.

I can't remember much rain in May but it's been probably 12 years since we've gone in May.

Love Bugs don't bother me so I never remember them being around.

Have fun planning!

I don't remember June as I haven't done since I was a kid. But early May is fine! Hot but not sweltering...but I do remember the love bugs swarming.

have fun!

Of the three choices you gave, I would suggest early May as that time is the least crowded. The weather will definitely be nice enough for swimming. It is my favorite time of year to go.
