:faint: My husband is interviewing for a job which will require a move to another state. We are due at the Fort end of May and have our trip ready to be paid for in two weeks. Has anyone had to cancel a trip after paying? Was it a hassle to get a refund on the credit card? My life is full of what ifs right now while waiting on the job possibillity to pan out, so I am trying to get a handle on all the details. Thanks!

What a bummer! I have no idea about getting the money back through Disney. I know when we had to do that at the Shades of Green it was pretty painless. Sorry you might have to cancel, hopefully the move goes well though.

I believe, from what I've my mom & others go through, & what Disney has told me directly as well. They put it back to your card immediately. HOWEVER, it can take your CC company up to 6 wks to apply to your account. After a couple of wks, they'll tell you to contact your CC co. & check with them.

If payment was made by check, then it's usually a couple of weeks to get it back.

But this might have changed, since I've last had to do this.:confused3

Good luck! Best of wishes on your DH's interview!:cheer2:

Thanks for the info. Disney's site says they will charge 100.00 for a cancelation 44-6 days out. I may beat that if my husband is told if he has the job before then. I have been prepping the kids for a trip delay just in case. They were ok knowing that Disney will be waiting for us. How sad to have to move, say goodbye to friends, and delay Disney! There is a positive: We can add to the vacation fund for more fun and maybe go there with the pool updates next summer. I will be doing alot of lurking on this forum to get my disney fix for a year till then!:surfweb:

this info is for package ressie, for room ressie you have till 6 days before to cancel with no penalty... we always book room ressie, then add package at last minute to aviod penalty in case of emergency........so if your not sure 44 days out you can change to room ressie then add package back later ......

we canceled our room ressie in february because i broke my toe and arm and they refunded everything the next day on our bank card, no hassles, and no worries associated with the refund...

I had to cancel a package ressie once inside that 44-6- day window, and I was ready to lose my deposit, but at the last second it occured to me to ask if I could just move the deposit to a reservation in the future. The answer was sure!

I just went ahead and booked another trip a few months down the road, and they transferred the deposit for me. I didn't lose a cent!

Just out of curiosity, where are you possibly moving to? Closer to the Fort than Chicago, I hope! :woohoo:

Ive always heard praises about disney refunds.

I recently cancelled a ressie a week before check-in, and had no problem with a refund. They said to look for the credit in 4-6 weeks but when I checked my Visa account online the refund was there in less than 10 days.

I believe Disney doesn't want to make you so mad that you will never stay at any of their resorts. That would really be bad business.

Thats some really quick thinking......you're a smart chiquita!!!! I never think of stuff like that till 5 minutes too late:sad2:

About a year and a half ago, we had to cancel our trip the day after we checked in! My FIL had passed away, and they were wonderful about it. Our trip was already paid for, and we figured we had lost all of it. Our primary concern was to get home (19-22 hours away), and when we notified FW we had to leave immediately, they immediately refunded the balance of our trip, without us even asking! Needless to say, we went back as soon as we felt able to!:goodvibes
