We just purchased the 100 point buy in with AKV-Kidani and now are rethinking, maybe we should have went with the 160 point buy-in. Can anyone tell me what the incentives are if we change to the 160? I thought there were an extra 160 points that you received as well. Are those considered developer points? What are developer points? Can they be used at any resort or any location? If not, how far out can you reserve those points? We have not signed the paperwork yet so I assume we can still change our mind? Thanks!

The deal that we got was $96/pt ($8 off) and matching developer points that have to be used at SSR (and only SSR) and they have to be used within 1 yr of the contract signing. You had to purchase at least 160 pts for new members for this deal.

Actually, we just bought the week before last (the DL holiday weekend event), and our dev. points are usable anywhere. I don't know if that was a one-time deal, or not, but I was advise asking your CM.

:)

My CM is out of town for the next 10 days. When they are gone like that do they give you someone else to talk to or do you just have to wait?

We got developer points when we purchased at AKV-Jambo, although it was our understanding that they weren't giving developers points to Kidani. I would check with your guide.

We also bought 160 points at the DL event and our incentive was $8 off a point, 2 annual pass and 220 developer points that can be used at any resort. We have already book our trip home using the developer point this Christmas. I believe the 220 developer points only offered at the DL event.

I just called to talk to my guide and quite frankly he sounded rather annoyed with me. I thought he was on vacation, at least that is what he told me last week. Apparently, not yet. Anyway, why would he be mad that I may change to a larger amount of points. Isn't that my decision. Anybody else have issues with their guide? Or am I just catching mine on an off day? I never got an answer, he said he hoped he could call me later and hung up.

Wow...who's your guide? You buying more points means more commission for him, so I'm shocked he'd get all bent out of shape over you wanting more. :confused3

He just called back, seemed a little more friendly. Maybe I just caught him at an off time. I agree though, I thought he would be happier if we went higher. I just keep hoping it isn't always like this because I may be needing him in the future and I want a good experience with DVC.
